Georgia Tech Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a 22-month, full-time, on-campus graduate degree in Atlanta, Georgia, for applicants with an accredited four-year bachelor’s degree. Georgia Tech recommends two to three years of full-time post-graduate experience, but it publishes no hard minimum. Fall 2027 is the only August intake, and Fall 2027 tuition is unpublished; 2026-27 tuition was US$46,260 (INR 44.28 Lakhs), as a prior-cycle reference.

The lock-step 54-credit curriculum combines accounting, finance, analytics, artificial intelligence and digital strategy with leadership, an international elective and applied practicums. The degree is designated in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), reflecting its analytical and technology focus rather than guaranteeing a job outcome. It suits an early or mid-career applicant who can pause full-time employment. Engineers and other non-business graduates can apply with quantitative evidence, career clarity and leadership examples.

  • A summer internship between the first and second years creates a structured bridge from classroom learning to recruiting.
  • Applicants can choose from 14 STEM-designated concentrations and 10 practicum course options.
  • The international MBA cohort represented 43% of the Class of 2027 profile.

Current Admission Status

Applications for the Fall 2027 intake are Open. International student deadline: 05 October 2026.

Georgia Tech publishes four Fall 2027 rounds and states that most merit funding is awarded in Rounds 1 and 2. Indian applicants should prepare tests, transcripts and funding evidence before their selected round because the full-time MBA is a single annual intake.

Georgia Tech MBA Fees and Living Costs 2027

Fall 2027 tuition is unpublished after the checked official programme and Bursar surfaces. The table therefore uses clearly labelled 2026-27 prior-cycle values only, while the final offer should be assessed against the newly published rate.

The prior-cycle out-of-country tuition was charged by semester, and Georgia Tech separately listed mandatory student fees and an international student fee. The calculated annual academic charge below combines those published components without treating it as a Fall 2027 quote.

Cost itemPublished basisAmount (US$)INR equivalent

  • The target-cycle tuition is the main funding risk, so request the 2027-28 rate before accepting an education loan.
  • The prior-cycle annual academic charge reached US$47,976 (INR 45.92 Lakhs) before living costs, making a funding award materially important.
  • The international student fee was listed separately from tuition, so confirm its frequency on the final term bill.

Cost of Living in Atlanta for MBA Students

Georgia Tech’s official 2026-27 graduate cost-of-attendance estimate separates living costs from tuition. It reports an off-campus total of US$25,256 (INR 24.17 Lakhs) annually, and the table keeps its combined allowance intact rather than inventing a rent breakdown.

ExpenseMonthly (calculated USD)Monthly (INR)Annual (official USD)Annual (INR)
Books, course materials and suppliesUS$66.67INR 6,381US$800INR 76,568
Housing allowance, off campusUS$1,198.33INR 1.15 LakhsUS$14,380INR 13.76 Lakhs

Total per year, off campusUS$2,104.67INR 2.01 LakhsUS$25,256INR 24.17 Lakhs

Using the published 2026-27 amounts, a two-year planning illustration totals US$146,464 (INR 1.40 Crore). Tuition and mandatory fees contribute 2 x US$46,260 (INR 44.28 Lakhs) and 2 x US$1,516 (INR 1.45 Lakhs), respectively. Four international-fee payments add 4 x US$100 (INR 9,571), while two years of off-campus living add 2 x US$25,256 (INR 24.17 Lakhs).

This is a prior-cycle planning illustration, not a Fall 2027 price. It does not include future fee changes, loan interest or expenses outside the official living estimate.

Fee verification

Fall 2027 tuition remains unpublished after the checked official fee surfaces, so verify the final amount on the official MBA fee page before accepting an offer.

Key insight: Because Fall 2027 tuition is unpublished, use the 2026-27 total only to size funding and wait for the official 2027 rate before signing a loan.

Georgia Tech MBA Admission 2027

The Full-time MBA admits once each year for Fall 2027, with classes beginning in August; no Spring or Summer start is offered. The programme accepts applicants from all academic backgrounds, and previous business coursework is not required because the first-year core moves quickly.

Admission combines academic preparation, work experience, tests, essays, recommendations and an interview invitation. Georgia Tech does not publish a minimum GPA for this MBA, so the class profile below is a benchmark rather than a cutoff.

Class of 2027 context: The current profile reports the averages and composition shown below, while international applicants must also provide readable English documentation.

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are the principal standardized-test options. They measure different skills and are not directly interchangeable, so use the exam that best reflects your preparation.

Admission factorGeorgia Tech MBA positionIndian applicant meaning
Academic backgroundAccredited four-year bachelor’s degree from any academic backgroundNo business major or prior business coursework is required
Work experienceTwo to three years of post-graduate full-time experience recommended before startingUse the recommendation to test classroom, internship and recruiting readiness
Standardized testsGMAT, GMAT Focus or GRE accepted; test optional; GMAT Superscore begins August 2027International applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a score
Class benchmarkAverage GPA 3.31, GMAT 654, GRE verbal 160 and quant 164Class of 2027 averages are not minimum requirements
International recordsNative-language transcripts and degree documents with English translationsPrivate credential evaluations are not accepted
  • Treat two to three years as a classroom and recruiting readiness signal, not an automatic eligibility cutoff.
  • If your undergraduate record is less quantitative, submit a strong GMAT or GRE because Georgia Tech says scores can strengthen admission and funding review.
  • The test-optional policy is less useful for international applicants because the MBA page strongly recommends a score for admission and funding.

English Language Proficiency

From Fall 2027, Georgia Tech requires every applicant to demonstrate English proficiency at application unless an accepted degree or documentation route applies. The MBA page publishes a higher floor than the institutional minimum, so Indian applicants should use the MBA-specific scores below and document any medium-of-instruction route before submission.

The current Georgia Tech English proficiency policy states that accepted scores remain valid for two years. Its Fall 2027 policy also says citizenship alone no longer proves proficiency.

English routeMBA minimum or policyComponents or documentationAction for Indian applicants
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT95 on the 0-120 scale or 5 on the new 1-6 scaleThe MBA page does not publish component minimumsConfirm the scale and score report accepted for Fall 2027
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic7.0 overallInstitutional components: Reading, Listening and Speaking at least 6.5; Writing at least 5.5Do not rely on the overall score without meeting each component floor
English-medium degreeAccepted documentation route under Fall 2027 policyTranscript notation, institutional letter or Medium of Instruction certificateSecure written documentation before submitting the application
Tests not acceptedTOEFL Essentials, IELTS General Training, Duolingo and Pearson Test of English (PTE)These routes do not meet the current institutional policyChoose IELTS Academic or the MBA TOEFL route

IELTS Academic is the simpler published route when you can meet each component floor, because an overall 7.0 alone is insufficient. Submit a Medium of Instruction certificate only after checking that your transcript or university letter clearly identifies English as the teaching medium.

  • Book the chosen test early enough to repeat a component or full test before the selected MBA round.
  • Ask your university for an English-medium letter that names the degree and teaching language rather than relying on informal statements.
  • Keep the original score report and translated academic records ready because Georgia Tech reviews international documents online first.

Tip for Indian students: A non-business degree is acceptable, but the fast quantitative core makes test evidence, transcript clarity and a specific leadership story important parts of the application.

Georgia Tech MBA Application 2027

The Fall 2027 application is open in four rounds, and Round 2 is the practical target for international applicants because most merit funding is awarded in Rounds 1 and 2. The official schedule gives dates but no clock time or timezone, so the portal’s displayed cutoff controls and cannot be converted reliably to an exact IST time.

Submit by a round deadline to receive the decision listed for that round. The table includes every Fall 2027 stage published by the MBA admissions page, including interview windows and deposit dates.

RoundApplication deadlineInterview windowDecision dateDeposit deadline
Round 105 October 202609 to 13 November 202620 November 202615 January 2027
Round 208 January 202722 to 27 February 202705 March 202712 April 2027
Round 305 March 202707 to 09 April 202716 April 202716 May 2027
Round 430 April 202720 to 21 May 202728 May 202718 June 2027
  • Choose Round 1 when your test score, essays, recommendations and transcripts are already complete enough for review.
  • Choose Round 2 when you need additional preparation but still want access to the two rounds receiving most merit funding.
  • Use Rounds 3 or 4 only after confirming that remaining funding and visa processing time fit your plan.
  • Record the deposit date alongside the decision date because an offer does not reserve your place indefinitely.

Application Components and Interview

An application includes a non-refundable international fee, academic records, a resume, essays, recommendations and a possible interview. Interviews are invitation-only and may be virtual or in person, while a complete application submitted by a round deadline receives a decision by the published decision date.

The international application fee is US$105 (INR 10,049). Upload scans for initial review, then provide official records before an interview invitation when requested.

  • Answer the career-goals essay with a short-term function, target companies and credible alternative paths within 2,000 characters.
  • Use the community essay and ten-facts essay to show how your experiences would affect the cohort beyond your resume.
  • Submit two professional recommendations, preferably including a current or former manager who can evaluate your work.
  • Add the optional 500-word essay only when it explains material context that the required application does not show.

Recommended Round for Indian Applicants

Round 2 balances funding access with preparation time for English evidence, translated records, test scores and the first-year financial plan. Round 1 is preferable when the complete application is already ready and funding priority matters more than additional preparation time.

  • Finish English documentation before the round deadline because citizenship alone does not satisfy the Fall 2027 policy.
  • Request recommendations early enough for referees to submit two detailed evaluations before the chosen deadline.
  • Keep the deposit date and first-year funding documents visible while waiting for the decision.
Application tip: For an Indian applicant targeting funding, Round 2 on 08 January 2027 is the clearest default, but only a complete file can receive the published round decision.

Georgia Tech MBA Scholarships 2027

Georgia Tech automatically reviews every complete Fall 2027 application for merit funding, and more than half of incoming Full-time MBA students receive some funding. The admissions page states that most funding is awarded in Rounds 1 and 2, so an international applicant should not postpone a complete file without a specific reason.

The checked official pages confirm two funding routes with useful published mechanics. They do not publish a guaranteed award for every admitted student, so budget the programme using the gross prior-cycle cost until written funding terms arrive.

Funding context: The values below are current published descriptions, not confirmed Fall 2027 awards, unless the row explicitly says otherwise.

Funding routePublished valueEligibility and routeFall 2027 timingApplicant action
Graduate AssistantshipUp to US$93,000 (INR 89.01 Lakhs) estimated value, depending on award and residencyFor exceptional academic or professional accomplishments; up to 14 hours weekly with monthly salary and tuition reductionAutomatic consideration during admission review when funding remainsSubmit a complete application in Round 1 or 2 and compare the written award with loan needs
MBA FellowshipCurrent published description: US$30,000 per year (INR 28.71 Lakhs)The public fellowship page describes MBA support; admissions nomination follows a complete applicationFall 2027 applicant eligibility, value and deadline are not publishedDo not borrow against this amount until Georgia Tech confirms the award in writing
  • An assistantship can reduce tuition exposure, but its 14-hour weekly work requirement must fit an intensive lock-step curriculum.
  • Because the target tuition is unpublished, calculate loan capacity without assuming a fellowship or assistantship.
  • Round 2 preserves access to the funding-priority rounds while giving you time to improve a test score or recommendation.

The tuition page also names Forté and ROMBA fellowship recipients, but the checked target-cycle pages do not publish their eligibility, award value or deadline. Treat these as possible nomination routes, not confirmed awards, until Georgia Tech writes the terms into your offer.

Scholarship reality: More than half of incoming students receive funding, but it does not price your award. Apply in Round 1 or 2 and plan the loan using gross charges.

Georgia Tech MBA Salary 2027

Georgia Tech publishes one course-cohort salary figure and several employment rates, so use them as reported outcomes rather than admissions or repayment guarantees. The latest displayed MBA salary is for the Class of 2025, while internship placement belongs to the Class of 2026; these cohorts must not be combined into one forecast.

Source: Georgia Tech Scheller Full-time MBA career development and summer internship pages.

Georgia Tech reports more than 100 companies recruiting MBAs through the Jones MBA Career Center each year, and many use internships as a primary source for full-time hires. That statement describes recruiting access, not a guaranteed interview or offer.

Reported employers include Amazon, Bain, BCG, Delta, IBM, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Oracle and Workday. Their presence demonstrates employer exposure, not an employer preference or placement probability.

Take-home salary will vary with federal and state tax, insurance and benefits, so use a current US tax calculator after identifying the role and state. Indian applicants returning home should not treat a US gross salary as an Indian take-home equivalent.

ROI and Career Risk

ROI is plausible for a host-country career pivot, but the final calculation remains unresolved because Fall 2027 tuition is unpublished. Using prior-cycle figures, the two-year planning illustration was US$146,464 (INR 1.40 Crore). The Class of 2025 reported an average starting salary of US$136,378 (INR 1.31 Crore) before taxes.

  • The unpublished 2027 tuition can change the two-year cost, so request the official rate before fixing a loan amount.
  • The Class of 2025 average starting salary of US$136,378 (INR 1.31 Crore) is gross and average, so model taxes, benefits and role variation before borrowing.
  • The programme reported US$7,120 (INR 6.81 Lakhs) average monthly internship salary, so treat internship income as planning evidence rather than guaranteed cash.
  • The STEM designation may support 36 months of work authorization, but employer sponsorship is uncertain, so do not base repayment on uninterrupted US employment.
  • An applicant returning to India should compare the US gross outcome with Indian post-tax income and loan repayment rather than importing the US salary figure unchanged.

Read More: USA Post-Study Work Options

ROI reality: The course-cohort outcomes support scenario planning, but target tuition and work authorization are unsettled inputs; secure written funding and model repayment from gross salary conservatively.

United States Visa for Georgia Tech MBA Students 2027

The Georgia Tech MBA uses the F-1 student visa for full-time international study. Georgia Tech requires a certified financial statement for at least the first year. The visa process separately requires the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee and visa application fee.

The current US Department of State student-visa guidance lists the application fee as US$185 (INR 17,706), and the I-901 SEVIS fee is US$350 (INR 33,498). New student visas may be issued up to 365 days before the course begins, but entry is limited to 30 days before the start date.

Visa costAmount (USD)INR equivalentWhen it applies
F-1 visa application feeUS$185INR 17,706Before the visa interview or appointment
I-901 SEVIS feeUS$350INR 33,498Before the student visa interview

Optional Practical Training (OPT) is the post-completion work authorization available to eligible F-1 students. The STEM designation may allow a 24-month extension after the standard 12-month period, for a possible total of 36 months.

The H-1B is a specialty-occupation work visa sponsored by an employer, and selection is lottery based. There is no single course-specific salary threshold, so the employer must meet applicable wage rules for the offered role and location.

  • Confirm employer and degree eligibility before treating the possible 36-month OPT window as available.
  • Do not assume permanent residence or a fixed settlement timeline after the MBA because later immigration categories depend on individual eligibility and sponsorship.
  • F-2 status may cover a spouse and unmarried minor children, but an F-2 spouse cannot work.

Check Out: US F-1 Student Visa Guide

Visa reality: The STEM designation can extend eligible work authorization, but the F-1 to H-1B route is not automatic. Keep visa fees, first-year funds and sponsorship risk separate from tuition planning.

Georgia Tech MBA Ranking 2027

Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business ranked 44th in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking 2026. This is a programme-specific full-time MBA ranking, but its 2026 edition is not a Fall 2027 outcome measure.

The ranking can add programme context, but it does not replace the Class of 2025 salary or employment evidence. Applicants should use the position after checking tuition, funding and career fit.

RankingEditionPositionScope
Financial Times Global MBA Ranking202644Global full-time MBA ranking

Read More: Georgia Tech MBA Rankings

Key insight: The Financial Times position confirms programme-level visibility, but the decision should turn on the unpublished 2027 fee, funding terms and course-cohort career evidence.

Georgia Tech’s 22-month, full-time MBA fits an early or mid-career applicant seeking a technology-facing management pivot through a lock-step 54-credit curriculum. Its practicum options, international elective and summer internship connect the quantitative core to applied career preparation. The material tradeoff is financial uncertainty because Fall 2027 tuition remains unpublished and US employment after graduation is not guaranteed. Use the 08 January 2027 Round 2 deadline to seek funding while verifying the final fee, English evidence and visa finances.

Georgia Tech MBA FAQs

Ques. Is Georgia Tech’s Full-time MBA suitable for an Indian engineer without a business degree?

Ans. Yes. Georgia Tech accepts accredited four-year bachelor’s degrees from all academic backgrounds and does not require previous business coursework. The fast 54-credit core still rewards quantitative preparation and a clear leadership story.

Ques. Should an Indian applicant submit GMAT or GRE when the MBA is test optional?

Ans. Georgia Tech makes tests optional, but its MBA page strongly recommends a score for international admission and funding. The Class of 2027 averages were GMAT 654 and GRE verbal 160 with quant 164, so submit a score when it strengthens your file.

Ques. How should I estimate the Georgia Tech MBA cost when Fall 2027 tuition is unpublished?

Ans. Use the 2026-27 prior-cycle planning illustration of US$146,464 (INR 1.40 Crore) for two years of tuition, fees and official off-campus living. Verify the 2027 rate before accepting an offer or fixing a loan.

Ques. Which Fall 2027 round should an Indian applicant target for funding?

Ans. Round 2 closes on 08 January 2027 and remains within the two rounds receiving most merit funding. Round 1 is better only when your complete application is already ready.

Ques. How long can a Georgia Tech STEM MBA graduate work in the United States after graduation?

Ans. Eligible F-1 graduates may receive 12 months of Optional Practical Training, with a possible 24-month STEM extension. H-1B sponsorship is separate and lottery based, while F-2 spouses cannot work.
