Master of Arts [M.A] [History] From Stanford University

Academic Eligibility:

• Students must complete a 4 years bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in a relevant subject or equivalent.
• No minimum GPA requirement but it is recommended to have a competitive score.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

• Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution

Note: A three-year bachelor’s degree in any subject is not considered sufficient for graduate study at Stanford. A two-year master’s degree following the three-year bachelor’s degree from India is required.

• Statement of Purpose
• One copy of official transcripts (an official Stanford transcript is requested and submitted through the online application; DO NOT request an official paper transcript from the Registrar’s Office)
• One writing sample on a Historical Topic (10-25 pages)
• Three letters of recommendation (two must be from history faculty)
• Preliminary Program Proposal 
• Coterminal course transfer information
• Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test is not required
• Application fee
