- It was very manageable. I would rate the difficulty as 2/5 with 1 being very easy and 5 being hard. The courses were a mix of practical and theory. Many subjects had more emphasis on theory, while some subjects were entirely practical.
- Less emphasis on memorizing was a big positive. Negative would be that professors were over-reliant on Student grader and Teaching assistants
- I had 4 classes per week. Usually 4 hours per day. Two days a week. Depends on the subject. Some subjects had 60, and some had 30.
- Indian students form about 40%-50% of the intake. I would say roughly around 300 in my batch.
Fees
- Tuition: $80,000 Living Expenses and other misc.: $21,000
- It is credit-based. Per credit cost is $2543 for a master's in the Engineering school. Varies by School and degree
- Rent: $850 for a shared room in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment. Electricity and other utilities (gas, trash, Wi-Fi): $85, Transportation: approx. $40, Groceries: $120, Miscellaneous: $100

Likes
- Great array of courses: There are lots of interesting computer science as well as data science courses to choose from. The courses are extremely in depth with lots of projects to get your hands dirty with.
- Professors are extremely knowledgeable: Victor Adamchik, Mohammad Reza Rajati.
- Campus is beautiful, with a great mix of historic buildings as well as modern architecture. A regular trip to Trader Joe's, is an absolute must when taking a walk through the USC Village.
Dislikes
- The cohort size for certain classes is large making a one-on-one interaction with certain professors a little less common
- Being a CS student i couldn't explore more than 1 course outside my domain
- Limited on-campus jobs making it much more competitive
Course Curriculum

- All courses are very different from each other. However, all of them have a very practical approach towards teaching. There is a lot of assignment work that gives you alot of hands-on experience in terms of the applications of the concepts.
- Even the most theoretical courses like Analysis of Algorithms have assignments that really make you apply your knowledge. It's a very fun and different way to learn compared to education back in india.
- The Exams are also on similar lines where its important to have a very solid foundational understanding of concepts, so that we can apply those concepts in the questions presented.
Fees
- The fee is to be paid every semester which amount to 20k USD appx.
- The monthly expense which includes the rent as well as other expenses like electricity, wifi, gas, groceries can amount to 1500 USD.
- The university is at a walkable distance so you won't have to spend much on transportation. After 6pm USC provides free Lyft until 2am for any place in a 2 mile radius, making it very easy for us as students to go to any place for any errands.
- There are also shuttles running through the day which helps if you're not a fan of walking. The public transport is also available to USC students for free using the U-pass which will be issued upon your arrival.

- Good computer architecture program with in depth Courses and labs on CPU and GPUs and expert faculty in hardware design. Research centers like ISI, Labs as sportlab, scip-lab
- Lot of Campus events and activities, min 3 events per week
Dislikes
- The surrounding area faces issues with homelessness and crime.
- Tuition, housing, and living expenses in Los Angeles are high, Even USC is a expensive Private college
- No RA and TA for Graduate students in Viterbi, Only PhD students.

- The traveling one has to do till the campus to go there is usually a good amount
- The competition for each of the positions that are open is a lot
- Connecting with other people is a little bit difficult, it's not as easy as other colleges

- It depends on the courses you take, some are theoretical and some are practical. The theoretical ones are difficult if they are like algorithms but otherwise you should do fine. The practical ones are like web technologies and it is very fun to do that if you are one that is interested in learning a lot about technologies and be at the top of the game and be industry ready.
- The difficulty level of the course curriculum is very high, it is very competitive out here, you have to be very good since you will be competing with 1600 other students in just one class and you will only get a good gpa if you are the best of the best literally because of its relative grading gpa.
- There are quite a lot of Indian students at USC in each and every field so there would usually not be much of a problem with connecting to them and making friends.
- The teaching methodology is the absolute best of the professors out here, they focus on a students ' learning methods than anything else.
Fees
- Tuition fee is 21000$ per semester. Credit based fees structure, where a person is only able to take a maximum of 8 credits per semester, so its 2625$ per credit.
- Transportation is free around here in USC, as USC provides a free Lyft program after 6pm till 6am.
- Rent is averaged around 650-800$ per sharing room and about 1000-1400$ per private room, though it heavily still depends on the location one is living in.

- I liked the facilities at the university. They are very helpful and always appreciate us for everything.
- The environment of the university was also nice for Indian students.

- I didn't like the placement of the university.
- If you really need a job you have to search for it yourself.
- Every student can relate that placements promised to us during the admission time are not really fulfilled.

Courses are definitely updated and tweaked to include new information and strategies by the professors. Advisors are overworked for our department for sure but they definitely pull through with making the course relevant.

- To be honest as I have mentioned the overall experience is something which makes things great. Good faculties with great ratio where students can have one on one interactions with students, taking courses from other school allows to understand more about different schools, their teaching styles.
Dislikes
- Fees could be a bit on a lower side, the amount of credits which I take from the other schools are restricted like for ex. I need to take 16 units from Viterbi then I can take rest of them from other.

- The environment, experience, coursework, people. The best things are the events that keep on happening in the campus to make sure students don't feel alone and have the feeling of fun by having free food, games etc.

- I think the university is in a not so good area. There are regular petty crimes but that's the in general state of the USA. Other things include lesser meal options for vegetarian but that's again the in general state of the USA

I think the coursework can be improved a lot and the required courses should be updated but other than that the Marshall courses are superb in the data science and finance departments.

- "1. The infrastructure, facilities, gym, sports center. 2. Everyone is approachable and responsive, be it professor or any other work related staff. 3. Professors try to keep lectures interactive and want you to understand the content. "

- "1. I find it overpriced for all the facilities 2. Getting an on campus job is really a hard task. The process is not exactly known by all. 3. The credit systems. Previously it was 3 credits for each subject where as it is 4 credits for each subject currently."

GRE qualification is not mandatory to apply and get admission in the MS Pharmaceutical Sciences program at the University of Southern California.
