All degree programs provide students with strong analytic and quantitative skills needed to conduct biomedical research, disease surveillance, and program evaluation. Students are invited to refer to the most recent catalogue for specific course requirements.

The focus of the training program is: theory of biostatistics, data analytic methods (univariate and multivariate analysis, generalized estimating equations, survival analysis, logistic regression analysis, statistical methods for epidemiological studies), experimental design (including the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials), statistical methods in human genetics, biomedical informatics and advanced statistical computing methods. Statistical methods are taught both from a practical and theoretical perspective.

This degree is structured for students to:

  • Understand and apply statistical methods for the design of biomedical research and analysis of biomedical research data;.
  • Understand and use mathematical and statistical theory underlying the application of biostatistical methods; use and interpret results from specialized computer software for the management and statistical analysis of research data;
  • Learn to participate in a research team setting in study design, data coordination and management, and statistical analysis and reporting of study results;
  • Participate in a research team in the development and evaluation of new and existing statistical methodology.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must have a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, from a college or university.
  • The average cumulative high school GPA of students admitted is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Students require a 4-year Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree (for 3-year Bachelor's degree holder) earned at an institution recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Note: A three-year bachelor’s degree in any subject is not considered sufficient for graduate study at the University of Southern California. 

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.

TOEFL is enough or I need to write gre for getting admission in ms pharma University?

GRE qualification is not mandatory to apply and get admission in the MS Pharmaceutical Sciences program at the University of Southern California. However, it is mandatory for all international students with English as a secondary language to submit a valid ELP test score to prove their proficiency in English language.

Is Duolingo accepted in USC for MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences?

The University of Southern California does not accept Duolingo as one of its ELP tests required for international admission. The university accepts various ELP tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, etc.
