University of Southern California environmental studies programs are built on specialized natural science and social science courses and a set of interdisciplinary courses focusing on sustainability. The curriculums are designed to prepare individuals to develop and use sophisticated analytical and computer-based methods to assess and protect the Earth’s natural resources and are designed to be accessible to students with any background. Students will be well prepared to pursue professional careers in business and industry, which build on their degrees in the natural sciences.
All Environmental Studies programs culminate in the capstone experience of a senior seminar focusing on environmental problem-solving by interdisciplinary teams. A single 24-unit environmental studies minor is derived from the core major curriculum.
