The Master in Computational Science and Engineering (MCSE) at Rice University’s George R. Brown School of Engineering is a two-year, non-thesis program designed to equip students with advanced skills in computational science, data engineering, and analytics. Ideal for those pursuing technical or managerial roles such as computational scientists, data engineers, and analysts, the program offers specializations in high-performance computing, machine learning, software engineering, and more. Students are admitted through one of four departments—Computational and Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Statistics—based on their interests. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with a minimum 2.7 GPA. The program requires completion of 30 credit hours. Rice University accepts almost all English proficiency exams, such as IELTS,TOEFL and PTE for international students admission. Indian students with excellent scores are eligible for the Fulbright Foreign Student Program awards offers full funding, health insurance, and enrichment activities.
