George Mason University Journalism Programs

George Mason University’s concentration in journalism prepares students to tell stories that change the world! They’ll learn to write and structure news stories for print, broadcast and multimedia platforms. They’ll gain experience seeking facts, finding sources and interviewing. They develop techniques for sharing well-told narratives, dive into current events, and examine the legal and ethical considerations journalists weigh when reporting the news.

The journalism concentration provides a pathway into the field of journalism, but this concentration is not only for students who want to report the news! These concentrations pursue a variety of fields – conservation, education, technology, filmmaking, medicine, marketing, public safety, publishing, public affairs, national and international politics, law and more.
