Likes
- The campus is huge area wise.
- The staff are super supportive .
- Lots of opportunities to explore for international students
Required Exams for Admission
Course Curriculum
- The course curriculum is super good. There are few courses like Software Engineering, Design and Analysis of Algorithms where you'll apply your knowledge and gain valuable insights.
- There are also few courses which you mostly get nothing out of it unless you put a special attention to learn.
Admission Experience
- I was always passionate about Computer Science and UCF is one amongst the top ranked colleges in CS department. And, the climate of Orlando is pretty good, except few extreme hot temperatures during June and July, remaining months are super cool to live.
- My scores are : GRE 320, IELTS 7.5, UG - CGPA : 3.7/4.0
Faculty
- Most of the Faculty here are well reputed. They all have their degrees form the best colleges in the world. They are super supportive.
- There's this professor called Kevin Moran who's exceptionally talented. I've personally learned a lot from him he even got his previous students whom he taught to our class to share some valuable insights of a presentation.
Campus Life
- The campus is excellent when it comes to extra curricular activities. There's a good social life, lots of clubs to explore. The best part is that UCF gives free tickets to Universal Orlando theme parks every year to across 10000 students.
Part Time Jobs
- Students are typically allowed 20 hours per week to work on campus. And there are huge number of opportunities available for the students to work on campus dining services and you can also try for GRA/GTA positions by trying to reach out to the professors. If they are impressed with your CV and skill set, you can get it too.
Placement
- The full time opportunities are purely dependent on the person. The college has nothing to do. There are few on campus company visits but they aren't intended to hire international students. So, you have to apply and make the process to get it. But, there are good numbers of students who got placed.
- Personally, I got placed as an SDE at a we'll reputed company. There are a good number of my friends who got graduated with me and cracked Amazon despite of this tough job market.
Accommodation
- There are 5-6 majorly popular housing options here with a 1 year lease options. Rent would be around 800$ for a private room and 400$ for a shared room. There are many UCF housing groups on Whatsapp where it would be easier to find accommodation.
Exams
- UCF requires GRE, IELTS/TOEFL. Apart from these, they also ask the official transcripts of your previous degree, your latest resume, LOR's and SOP's.
Fees
- For our term, it's a total of 36K USD for the entire 2 year course. You can try for scholarships by applying to GRA positions but the chances of getting selected are pretty low.
