Back in 2015, when I visited united states as an vistor, I saw of a university in Houston, and that changed my mind to pursue my future education in united states. Why I chose UNT: it has a strong academic background, with 130-190 different career options available to choose from. On top of that, they have a separate engineering campus known as Discovery Park, which is well known for engineering. They have a big space at the engineering campus where all the engineering labs are located, and students can learn something new day by day in these engineering labs. A lot of personal training options are available, and as I am majoring in mechanical engineering, they do offer a lot of certifications that you can achieve without any cost; it's completely free. If you have to get the same certification from outside, they will charge you a lot of money for certification plus the cost for your software license can also apply. So overall UNT has a lot of available resources and opportunities available where students can learn and gain knowledge with the help of high-ranking faculty. I had only applied to 2, 1. UNT which I got admitted to, I got my GRE/GMAT waived as I said them I have 3.7/4 GPA in my Bachelors. So if you have more than 3.5 it would be waived, but I m unsure of current situation. I got visa denial once for fall and I had reapply for next intake- Spring, UNT had emailed the i20 deferring my application within two hours of my visa refusal. 2. I applied to University of Houston Main campus, but I never heard them back, tried to reach them out a lot wasted my $80 - I applied for Ms in Supply chain management. I had applied both the universities on my own from their official websites- did not go to consultancies I choose UNT as I knew a few people here in same university, and that I was getting STEM program in finance as most universities do not offer STEM to business related fields. plus was that this has only 30 credits which means I can complete my program in 3 semesters as well. As mentioned above GRE/GMAT is mandate to apply for this course, however you can seek wavier if you have good grades in bachelors. Admission process wasn't difficult, you just need three LORs, SOP, transcripts to be mailed to them. Fairly easy and fast. May -I submitted my application in early May. This included completing the application form, paying the application fee, and uploading all required documents such as transcripts, test scores IELTS, statement of purpose, and letters of recommendation. After submission, I received a confirmation from the university that my application was complete and under review. July -In mid-July, I received my official admission offer. I chose this University as the Weather and living style is good and also the course curriculum mainly focuses on Machine learning and all researches the do focus on AI. And to get into this University Bachelors score should be like 8.0 grade or more and a good GRE and IELTS score with some work experience in that particular field. I applied for the following universities: 1. University of North Texas (admitted): Master of Science in Information Science 2. University of Cincinnati (admitted): Master of Science in Information Technology No rejections since I applied to only two universities. The fewer colleges you apply to, the higher the chances get of your visa acceptance. Being focused on only one university and studying the university's complete curriculum before applying is the key to getting admitted in a single attempt. The University of North Texas felt safe to attend rather than going to Cincinnati. I emailed a few of the professors whose subjects I would be interested in taking, and the responses received from them were remarkable. The admission process included submitting university transcripts, identity proofs, IELTS scores, three letters of recommendation, and a statement of purpose. The minimum score required in IELTS was 7.0 with a minimum of 8.0 CGPA in the academics. The overall admission experience was smooth and no challenge was experienced from any end. The only thing is, you need to apply to the universities as soon as possible, as the decisions take time to be announced from the university end. I applied to the fall 2023 intake.
