- The Master of Science in Business at Oregon State University has a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) code designation.
- As a STEM-designated degree recipient, international students who graduate with the MSB are eligible to extend their F-1 visa status from 12 months to 36 months in the optional practical training (OPT) program.
- The STEM designation offers important benefits for recruiting and post-graduation employment. In particular, the STEM Designated Degree Program, which is housed within the Department of Homeland Security and based on definitions administered by the Department of Education.
- STEM designations for business programs are unusual and denote strong technical and quantitative rigor within the curriculum.
