Amity Karnataka PhD Management FAQs
Ques. What is the minimum qualification required for PhD Management admission at Amity University Bengaluru?
Ans. You need a Master's degree in a relevant field with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university. Alternatively, if you have a four-year Bachelor's degree with minimum 75% marks in a relevant field, you can apply for direct admission to the Full-Time PhD program. Foreign nationals must provide an AIU equivalence certificate along with their application.
Ques. Is the APET (Amity PhD Entrance Test) mandatory for all candidates?
Ans. No, candidates who have successfully cleared national-level competitive exams such as UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, GPAT, or INSPIRE in a relevant field are exempted from APET. However, they must submit the official certificate within two days prior to their scheduled PET date. All other candidates must appear for the APET, which consists of 100 MCQs covering general aptitude and subject-specific knowledge at UGC-CSIR-NET/GATE level difficulty.
Ques. Can I pursue PhD in Management on a part-time basis while working?
Ans. Yes, Amity University offers both full-time and part-time modes for PhD Management. Part-time classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:15 AM to 6:10 PM. However, if you are employed, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer at the time of joining the program. Part-time fees are Rs 40,000 per semester for Bengaluru campus.
Ques. What is the research publication requirement before PhD completion?
Ans. It is mandatory to publish a minimum of two research papers in reputed journals before submitting your thesis for the award of PhD degree. This ensures that your research contributes to the academic community and meets international standards for doctoral research.
Ques. How is the research guide/supervisor assigned, and can I change my guide during the program?
Ans. Your Main Guide and Co-Guide are assigned by the Departmental Research Committee (DRC) and Faculty Research Committee (FRC) based on your research area, availability of eligible guides, and your preferences. The Main Guide must be from Amity, while the Co-Guide should be from outside Amity. You cannot change your assigned guide unless the guide becomes unavailable for specific reasons, ensuring continuity in your research supervision.
