Amity University Campus Facilities 

The multiculturally vibrant, growth-oriented, and futuristic campus of Amity University is located on a huge area of land. Overall campus life for students is very diverse and exciting, and worth cherishing because Bengaluru being the University location gives them a plethora of learning and work opportunities, where they get to connect with some of the brightest minds. In addition, young minds have been given full freedom to experiment with their unique business, science, and fashion ideas. Following are some of the key amenities AU has for its students as well as teachers. 

Smart Classrooms: The University has developed big, technology-enabled, and well-ventilated lecture halls on its campus. All the classrooms have been designed in an amphitheater style and are equipped with air-conditioners and audio-video teaching aids. The aim is to not only provide the most favorable ambiance to students for focused learning but also to allow faculty to deliver even the most complex topics in the easiest way possible using presentations, pre-recorded videos, and other videos. 

Syndicate Room: This facility has been built to ensure critical corporate and team-building skills can be inculcated in students through activities and exercises such as brainstorming sessions, group discussions, and role-plays. It is a big space and can accommodate a large number of students at a time.

Laboratories: Just as an institution feels incomplete without teachers and books, so are the studies without practical exposure, hence following state-of-the-art labs have been established on the University campus:

Engineering: All the Engineering labs are well-equipped with the latest machinery and sophisticated instruments. All the experiments and research work are carried out by the students under the supervision of trained professionals.

• MSF Lab: It has a Universal Testing Machine, Torsion Testing Machine, Hardness Testing, Bernoulli Experiment, and Ventury Metre.

• Physics Lab: This lab comprises a Spectrometer, Sonometer, Polarimeter, Bar Pendulum, Newton's Sign, and Variation of magnetic field.

• Workshop Lab: This lab is well-resourced with Gas Welding, Arc Welding, a Fitting Shop, a furry shop, a Friction Experiment, Universal Force Table.

• Electrical Science Lab: Equipment and facilities such as Transformers, measuring instruments like Wattmeter, Ammeter, Voltmeter, CRO’s, P-N Junction Diode, Logic Gates, Regulated Power Supply, and Function Generators are available here.

• Embedded System Lab: This space has everything ranging from various microprocessors and microcontrollers like 8085, 8086, and 8051, to interfacing ICs and kits.

• Analog Electronics Lab: This Analog Lab contains kits using which students can study the behavior of various electronic devices like diodes, BJTs, MOSFETs, op-amps, and waveform generators.

• Mechanical Lab: Equipment such as Universal Vibration Testing Rig, Gyroscope Experiment, Critical Speed Test Rig, Static, Dynamic Balancing, Lathe Machine, Milling, Shaper, Planner, Radial Drill, Power Hacksaw Machine, Pelton Turbine, Hydraulic Ram, Kaplan Turbine are installed in this lab for students and teachers use.

• Biotechnology Lab: This lab has new-age facilities for practical teaching/demonstrations and research equipment like Spectrophotometer, PCR Machine, Gel Documentation System, ELISA Reader, Centrifuge Machine, Orbital Incubator Shaker, Laminar Flow Load, Bioreactor, Milli Q Water System, Deep Freezer, Temperature Controlled Dry Bath and Horizontal and Vertical Electrophoretic Assembly. Here, students get to learn different aspects of Molecular Biology, RDT, Plant Tissue Culture, Immunology, Bioprocess Technology, Fermentation Biology, Toxicology, and Microbiology/ Biochemical Technology.

• Central Instrument Research Facility (CIRF): This space has devices such as Confocal Microscope, FACS, HPLC Waters, Ultra-centrifuges and high-speed centrifuge, Spectrophotometer, and Geldoc, 

Computer Center: This facility has been built by the University to make students digitally proficient, learn various software related to their core disciplines, and help them make the best use of online learning sources. It has 200+ computers having the latest configurations and required applications and software. All systems are interconnected with each other through LAN using switches and two servers (IBM X3400 under Windows Server 2008 & RHEL-5.0). 

In addition, AU has fully equipped R&D/Project Labs with Software Development tools. Knowledge of key subjects like Data Structure, C and C++ Programming Lab, Java, UNIX (OS Lab) and OOPC, DBMS, RDBMS, VHDL Programming, Web Development and MATLAB*, PC Pkg Lab, Software Engineering Lab, and Software Project Management is delivered to students here.

Library: The integrated and automated knowledge center of Amity University is its backbone, and it has been developed to instill much-needed reading habits in students and supplement everyone’s knowledge with additional learning sources. The library hosts vast collections of 50,000 textbooks and reference books, 20,000 journals, 25000 publications, magazines, Indian & International Journals, Online Journals, and other online resources. 

In addition, there are separate Reference Sections, Circulation Sections, Audio-visual Sections, and Periodical Sections in the library. All the operations of the library have been automated. Students can also access various Journals / Periodical, Online Journals including EBSCO, IEEE, ACM Digital Library, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Institute of Physics, Nature Journal, Portland Press, Royal Society of Chemistry, Taylor & Francis, American Institute of Physics, I-Med DELNET & American Library, and Legal Database (Manupatra, SSC Online, Westlaw). Last but not least, access to EbscoHost, UGC-Infonet, INDEST-AICTE, IS1, and Delnet is available for them. 

Sports and Gym: The University has developed a huge sports complex so that students can play, and enjoy games like Cricket, Football, Basketball, Lawn Tennis, and Volleyball. Enough indoor arrangements have also been made for games such as chess, carom, table –tennis, snooker, etc. The aim is to not only keep students physically and mentally fit, but increase their concentration powers, and inculcate team building, and group management skills in them. There is also a full-fledged Gym on the campus, where students can regularly work out using the most modern fitness machines.

Moot Court: There are also Moot Courts on the University campus. These simulated courts give a platform to law students to experience practical learning and critical aspects of court proceedings through oral arguments, researching and writing the memorials & best court practices. Apart from this, students here learn how to put arguments in favor and against a case. Renowned Professors, Lawyers, and Retired Judges are invited as jurists to assess the work of young minds and provide them with valuable feedback. 

Auditorium: A new-gen and ultra-modern Auditorium has been established on the AU Campus to smoothly organize guest lectures, workshops, webinars, conferences, seminars, and training programs in collaboration with corporate experts and leaders. This facility has a seating capacity of 1,000 people. Every facility ranging from a public speaking system, projectors, whiteboards, screens, internet connectivity, audio-video systems, etc. is available here. 

Television Studio: The spacious television studio at Amity University is a fusion of Innovation between Industry, and Academia Collaboration. The university has partnered with NDTV, through which students are regularly engaged in a whole range of studio and outdoor productions including news bulletins, documentaries, and discussions on current affairs. 

Experienced producers from NDTV, renowned journalists, expert camerapersons, and Editors assess the work done by young minds. This space has a multi-camera studio floor with lighting grids and a teleprompter; a production control room with control panels to manage multiple video and audio sources online and offline; graphics and special effects generators; video edit suites, Media composers, and a Mac equipped with Final Cut Pro editing software. 

Cafeteria: An aesthetic cafeteria has been built in AU to provide delicious, freshly prepared, and a wide variety of food items, snacks, and beverages to students and staff members at an affordable price. Menus here are prepared by a team of professional dieticians so that young minds get a well-balanced diet at the end of the day irrespective of what they eat the whole day. Coffee lovers can enjoy their coffee at the outlet of Cafe Coffee Day. Then there is a multi-cuisine food court with facilities such as Dosa Plaza, and a cook house.

Hostels: To offer a homely ambiance to students away from their homes, so that all can safely pursue their dreams, separate accommodations facilities for both girls and boys have been developed by the university on its campus. These hostels are equipped with air-conditioned, clean, and well-maintained rooms with attached washrooms, sitting lounges, laundry service, 24*7 water and electricity supply, and internet access to make sure everyone can stay in contact with family and friends. Common rooms have also been built for students to rejuvenate themselves. Tight security measures have been implemented in each accommodation facility through biometric readers, the latest IP cameras, fire warning systems, 24-hour guards, and patrolling units.
