MHU B.Sc {Hons.} Horticulture: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. The 4-year programme covers fruit science and pomology, vegetable science and agronomy, floriculture, post-harvest technology, nursery and seed technology, plant pathology, entomology, soil science, plantation crops, and spices and aromatics. Students also complete practicals in experimental orchards and controlled-environment facilities on campus. The syllabus is aligned with ICAR-prescribed horticulture undergraduate norms used across Indian agricultural universities.

Ans. Admission is through two routes. For 85% state quota seats, candidates appear in CCSHAU CET on July 19, 2026 by registering on hau.ac.in. For 15% all-India quota seats, a CUET UG 2026 score is used (exam held in May 2026). All candidates must also register on the MHU portal (mhu.ac.in) with a counselling fee of INR 500 (INR 125 for SC/BC/EWS). Seat allotment takes place on August 6, 2026.

Ans. The total programme fee is INR 75,490 for the entire 4-year course covering 8 semesters. This covers tuition and academic charges across the full programme. Hostel accommodation is available at an additional INR 12,250 per year, which is optional and billed separately. The application counselling fee of INR 500 (INR 125 for SC/BC/EWS) is a one-time payment made on the MHU portal during the admission process.

Ans. MHU’s College of Horticulture at Karnal (Anjanthali campus) offers 94 seats for Haryana residents and 26 seats under the ICAR all-India quota, totalling 120 seats at this campus. A second campus in Ambala (Chandsoli) offers 23 state quota seats and 7 ICAR AIQ seats, totalling 30 additional seats. Reservation within the state quota follows Haryana government norms for SC, Deprived SC, BC, and EWS categories.

Ans. Graduates can pursue M.Sc Horticulture at MHU or other agricultural universities, or apply for ICAR Junior Research Fellow positions. Government roles include Horticulture Development Officer and Horticulture Supervisor posts in Haryana and other states. Graduates also find roles in floriculture export companies, nurseries, landscape firms, agri-input companies, and food processing enterprises. Preparing for state agricultural service examinations and B.Ed Agriculture for teaching are also common pathways.

Ans. Yes. Candidates from all states can appear in CCSHAU CET, but the large majority of seats are reserved for Haryana domicile residents. Out-of-state students compete in the open category for the remaining seats. For 15% all-India quota seats, a valid CUET UG 2026 score is required regardless of state. All candidates must register separately on both the CCSHAU portal and the MHU portal and pay the prescribed counselling fee before the stated deadline.
