CSMU D.Pharma FAQs
Ques. What is the difference between D.Pharma and B.Pharma, and which should I choose?
Ans. D.Pharma is a 2-year diploma programme (plus 3 months internship) that qualifies you to register as a pharmacist and work in retail or hospital pharmacies. B.Pharma is a 4-year degree programme that provides deeper knowledge and opens doors to pharmaceutical industry roles, higher studies (M.Pharma), and research. If you want to start working quickly as a pharmacist, D.Pharma is a faster route. If you want a broader career in the pharmaceutical industry or higher education, B.Pharma is recommended. D.Pharma graduates can also pursue B.Pharma through lateral entry into the 2nd year.
Ques. Can I pursue B.Pharma after completing D.Pharma from CSMU?
Ans. Yes, D.Pharma graduates are eligible for lateral entry into the 2nd year of B.Pharma at CSMU and other PCI-approved institutions. This allows D.Pharma graduates to complete B.Pharma in 3 years instead of 4. The lateral entry admission is based on D.Pharma marks and the relevant entrance exam. This is a popular pathway for students who start with D.Pharma and later decide to pursue a full degree in pharmacy.
Ques. What is the total fee for D.Pharma at CSMU, and are there any additional charges?
Ans. The total programme fee for D.Pharma at CSMU for 2026-27 is Rs. 3,65,000 over 2 years. The 3-month internship after the 2-year coursework may involve additional costs depending on the placement.
Ques. What is the mandatory internship requirement for D.Pharma at CSMU?

This internship can be done at a registered pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or pharmaceutical company.
