Ques. Is there any entrance exam required for B.Tech Lateral Entry in EEE at SBU?
Ans. No, SBU does not require any entrance exam for B.Tech Lateral Entry. Admission is merit-based, i.e., based on marks in the qualifying Diploma or B.Sc examination. You can apply directly through admission.sbu.ac.in.
Ques. What is the scope of B.Tech EEE (Lateral Entry) from SBU in terms of government jobs?
Ans. B.Tech EEE graduates are eligible for government jobs through GATE (for PSU recruitment), SSC JE (Junior Engineer), state-level JE exams, and UPSC IES (Indian Engineering Services). Major PSUs like NTPC, BHEL, PGCIL, and ONGC actively recruit EEE graduates. SBU's placement cell also facilitates campus recruitment for private sector roles.
Ques. What is the difference between B.Tech EEE (4 years) and B.Tech EEE Lateral Entry (3 years) at SBU?
Ans. The regular B.Tech EEE is a 4-year programme for 10+2 (PCM) students. The Lateral Entry is a 3-year programme for Diploma holders or B.Sc graduates who enter directly into the 2nd year. Both lead to the same B.Tech degree.
Ques. What is the total fee for B.Tech Lateral Entry in EEE at SBU?
Ans. The total academic fee is Rs. 3,91,000 (tuition fee of Rs. 3,70,000 + one-time charges of Rs. 21,000). Hostel is optional at Rs. 3,06,000 for 3 years (meal included). The caution money of Rs. 5,000 is refundable.

Ans. SBU's Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences is equipped with dedicated labs for EEE students including power systems, electrical machines, control systems, power electronics, and microprocessor labs. Ans. Yes, after completing B.Tech (Lateral Entry) in EEE from SBU, you are eligible to apply for M.Tech programmes. SBU itself offers M.Tech in Power Systems, Control System, and Signal Processing. You can also apply to other universities through GATE scores for M.Tech admission.
