Assam Women’s University (AWU) Admission 2026 is open exclusively to female candidates across all programmes. AWU is Northeast India’s only dedicated state women’s university, admitting students through three routes: CEE for BPT, AWUET-2026 for PG programmes, and the Assam Higher Education Portal for five-year Integrated PG programmes.

For 2026-27, AWU offers 16 two-year PG programmes and 15 five-year Integrated PG programmes. MBA and MA in Mass Communication and Journalism additionally require a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Assam Women’s University PG Admission 2026

MA programmes in Assamese, Cultural Studies, Economics, Education, English, Political Science, and Sociology require graduation with a major or minor in the subject and 45% marks. Assam Women’s University Integrated PG Admission 2026

AWU offers 15 Five-Year Integrated PG Programmes (FYIPGP) for female candidates who have passed Class 12. These programmes run for 10 semesters and award a Master’s degree. Admission is merit-based, using best of five subject marks from the 10+2 examination. No AWUET is required for FYIPGP.

Each FYIPGP has 48 Regular seats and 2 Supernumerary seats. Applications are submitted through the Assam Higher Education Admission Portal, not AWU’s own portal.

FYIPGP admission is entirely merit-based. No entrance exam is required. Selection follows Govt. of Assam reservation norms. The process is listed below.
