MUIT Diploma CSE (Part Time) FAQs
Ques. Is the Part Time Diploma in CSE at MUIT the same as the regular diploma, just spread over more years?
Ans. Yes, essentially. The Part Time Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering at MUIT covers the same curriculum as the regular 3-year full-time diploma, but is spread over 4 years to accommodate students who cannot attend full-time. Classes are typically held in the evening or on weekends, making it suitable for working individuals or those with other daytime commitments.
Ques. Can I get a job after completing this part-time diploma from MUIT?
Ans. Yes. The diploma qualifies you for entry-level IT roles such as Programmer, IT Support Engineer, Network Engineer, and Technical Writer. MUIT has a placement cell that assists students with campus drives and career guidance. However, since this is a part-time diploma, placement support may be more limited compared to full-time programs. Many students in this program are already working and use the diploma to upskill or formalize their qualifications.
Ques. Is attendance mandatory for the Part Time Diploma at MUIT?
Ans. Yes, MUIT requires a minimum of 75% attendance for all programs, including part-time ones. This is a common concern raised by students on review platforms. Since classes are held in the evening, working professionals need to plan their schedules accordingly to meet this requirement.
Ques. Can I pursue lateral entry into the 2nd year of this Part Time Diploma?
Ans. Yes. Lateral entry is available for candidates who have passed 10+2 with Science stream (with relevant subjects) or completed 10th + 2 years ITI with an appropriate trade, both with at least 35% marks. Lateral entry students are admitted directly to the 2nd year of the program.
Ques. What is the difference between the Evening Diploma and Part Time Diploma in CSE at MUIT?
Ans. Both the Evening and Part Time Diploma in CSE at MUIT are designed for students who cannot attend regular daytime classes, and both carry the same annual fee of INR 46,200. The key difference is in duration: the Evening Diploma is 3 years (like the regular full-time program), while the Part Time Diploma is 4 years, with a lighter per-semester workload. Students with more demanding schedules often prefer the Part Time option.
Ques. Does MUIT accept JEECUP scores for admission to the Part Time Diploma in CSE?
Ans. Yes, MUIT accepts JEECUP (Joint Entrance Examination Council Uttar Pradesh) scores for diploma admissions. However, JEECUP is not mandatory; admission can also be granted on the basis of merit in the 10th board examination. Students who have appeared for JEECUP 2026 (exam scheduled May 15-22, 2026) can use their scores to apply, but direct merit-based admission is also available.
