Ques. Can I pursue the Part Time PhD in Tourism Management at Amity Mumbai while working full-time in the tourism industry?
Ans. Yes, the Part Time PhD is specifically designed for working professionals. Classes are held only on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), so you can continue your job while pursuing the doctorate. However, you will need to submit an NOC from your employer at the time of registration, and attendance at coursework sessions is mandatory (minimum 75% per course).
Ques. What is the difference between the Full Time and Part Time PhD in Tourism Management at Amity Mumbai in terms of fees and duration?
Ans. The Full Time PhD has a semester fee of Rs 38,000 per semester with a minimum duration of 3 years (6 semesters), while the Part Time PhD has a semester fee of Rs 33,000 per semester with a minimum duration of 3.5 years (7 semesters). Interestingly, the Part Time fee per semester is slightly lower, but the total duration is longer. Both modes have the same one-time Registration Fee (Rs 10,000) and Security Deposit (Rs 10,000).

The APET can be waived for candidates who have cleared national-level competitive exams such as UGC-NET (any category), CSIR-NET, GATE, GPAT, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE, ICAR-AICE-JRF/SRF, or similar exams in the relevant field, within the validity period of their certificate. Such candidates need to appear only for the interview round. All other candidates must appear for the APET.
