Amity Mumbai Ph.D. Pharmaceutical Sciences Admission 2026

Amity University Mumbai conducts Ph.D. admissions twice a year - for January and July sessions. The January 2026 session admissions are now closed. The July 2026 session is the upcoming admission cycle, with applications expected to open around April-May 2026. Candidates must apply online through the official PhD portal at www.amity.edu/phd. Shortlisted candidates appear in the Amity PhD Entrance Test (APET) followed by an interview; those with valid GPAT/UGC-NET/GATE scores are exempted from APET.

Note: For the January 2026 session, the last date to apply for Mumbai campus was December 6, 2025. Dates for July 2026 are tentative; candidates must check www.amity.edu/phd for confirmed dates.

GPAT Exam Dates

Note: GPAT is accepted for APET exemption for PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Candidates with a valid GPAT score need to appear only for the interview round at Amity. UGC-NET/CSIR-NET in the relevant field is also accepted for exemption.

Eligibility Criteria

• Master's degree (M.Pharm or equivalent) from a recognised Indian or foreign university in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
• Alternatively, a four-year Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent CGPA (direct admission in this case is in Full Time mode only).
• A relaxation of 5% marks is applicable for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled/EWS candidates as per UGC regulations 2022.
• Working candidates must submit employment verification details at the time of form filling and an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from their employer at the time of joining.

Admission Process

• Fill and submit the online application form at www.amity.edu/phd along with required documents and an application fee of Rs. 1,500.
• Upload all required documents in the specified format (including employment proof and NOC for part-time applicants).
• Shortlisted candidates will be notified on the Admission Microsite to select a date for APET (or interview only, if APET-exempted).
• Appear in APET (90-minute test, 100 MCQs - 50 general research aptitude + 50 subject-specific) followed by an interview by the Faculty Research Committee (FRC).
• Candidates with valid GPAT/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE scores in the relevant field are exempted from APET and appear for the interview only.
• Selection results are communicated on the Admission Microsite; selected candidates receive an online admission letter within two days of selection.
• Pay fees and complete registration/orientation formalities as per the admission letter.

Amity Mumbai Ph.D. Pharmaceutical Sciences Scholarships 2026

Amity University offers research fellowships and financial support primarily for full-time PhD scholars. For part-time PhD scholars, the Amity Research Fellowship (ARF) is not applicable; however, sponsored candidates and those with government/national fellowships may be eligible for fee concessions. Candidates working in pharmaceutical companies or research organisations may explore employer-sponsored scholarship options.

Scholarship Details

• The Amity Research Fellowship (ARF) is exclusively for full-time PhD scholars and is not available for part-time candidates.
• Part-time candidates who are sponsored by their employer and receive a stipend/scholarship may be classified under the Sponsored Candidate category.
• Security Deposit of Rs. 10,000 is refundable upon PhD completion.
• For external scholarships, candidates may explore schemes from UGC, ICSSR, DST, and state government bodies.
