Should you pick B.Com (Hons.) at BGU?
This course suits students who want a career in accounts, tax or finance, or plan to write CA, CMA or CS later.
Pick it if:
You want a career in accounts or finance: most papers here are in accounting and finance, with skill papers in FinTech, financial modelling and data analytics.
You plan to write CA or CMA: B.Com students may do the summer internship in a Chartered Accountant's office, and the school works with the ICSI and ICMAI institutes.
You want teachers who know you by name: the course takes only 60 students a year, so classes stay small.
Your Class 12 marks are close to 50%: there is no entrance test and seats go on marks as forms come in, so apply soon after your result.
Skip it if:
You need a campus job right after year 3: in NIRF 2025 data, none of 153 graduates of the 3-year UG courses was placed on campus.
You are taking a loan for the full fee: no pay figure is published for this course, so you cannot check INR 4.89 Lakhs against a first salary.
You often miss classes: you need 75% attendance in each paper to sit the semester exam, and the merit scholarship also asks for 75%.
You cannot pay fees on the due date: a fine starts 16 days after the due date, goes up to INR 5,000, and unpaid fees stop you from sitting exams.
Counsellor's advice
If you have 50% or more and plan CA, CMA or an M.Com, apply soon after your Class 12 result. If you need a job right after the degree, ask the placement cell for last year's B.Com offers before you pay.

In short
XIM University costs more for its four-year course but asks the same marks. If you want a four-year degree and can pay more, weigh it; if cost matters most, BGU is the cheaper seat.
In short
Sri Sri University charges less for the same three years and has a few fewer seats. If you are fine studying in Cuttack and fee is the main worry, keep it next to BGU on your list.
In short
ASBM University costs less over four years and asks for lower marks. If your Class 12 score is below 50%, apply there as a backup, since BGU needs 50% for General students.
In short
Centurion University costs less for a four-year course. If you want the lower fee and can take one more year, check its current marks rule before you pick it over BGU.
Fees and pay can change. Check each college site before you decide.

The highest salary package can reach 10.2 LPA, with an average between 5.5 LPA and 8.5 LPA.
