JNTUA Course Admission 2026: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

For admission into the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), candidates must appear for the EAMCET exam, a state-level entrance test in Andhra Pradesh. To be eligible, students need to have passed their Intermediate examinations. The EAMCET exam comprises 180 questions, each carrying one mark, and does not include negative marking. Admissions are based on the rank obtained in EAMCET, with successful candidates typically securing ranks up to 9,000 for the general category, 12,000 for OBC, and lower ranks for SC, ST, and PWD categories, benefiting from reservation policies.

Application forms are available online, generally post-Intermediate results, with a fee of around INR 1,000. The examination usually takes place in the morning, and while the admission process is straightforward, it can be lengthy, especially during counseling and college selection stages. Candidates select preferred colleges, such as JNTU Anantapur—a top government college—based on their ranks. Although the admission process is well-structured, it is perceived as slower compared to private institutions.

There is no provision for direct or management quota admissions, ensuring merit-based entry through the entrance examination.
