Amity Noida BA (Research) English FAQs
Ques. I scored 68% aggregate in Class XII but 89% in English. Am I eligible for B.A. (English) at Amity Noida?
Ans. For the Non-Sponsored category, you need a minimum 60% aggregate in Class XII AND a minimum 70% in English. Since your English score (89%) meets the requirement and your aggregate (68%) also meets the 60% minimum, you are eligible to apply for the Non-Sponsored category. However, note that the average aggregate of admitted students last year was 80%, so competition is high. You may also consider applying under the Sponsored category, which has a lower aggregate requirement but higher fees.
Ques. Is the B.A. (English) at Amity Noida a 3-year or 4-year program? I see conflicting information online.
Ans. The current program is a 4-year B.A. (English) (Honours/Honours with Research) under the NEP 2020 framework (Program Code: 101510). Some older sources and third-party websites may still show it as a 3-year program, which was the earlier structure. The 4-year program allows students to exit with a Certificate (after Year 1), Diploma (after Year 2), B.A. (after Year 3), or B.A. (Honours/Honours with Research) (after Year 4).
Ques. How strict is the attendance policy, and what happens if I fall below 75%?
Ans. Amity University mandates a minimum of 75% attendance per subject to be eligible to appear in end-semester examinations. Attendance is tracked digitally on the Amizone portal and cannot be manipulated. If you fall below 75% in any subject, you will not be allowed to sit for that subject's exam and will have to re-appear the following year, incurring additional fees. This is strictly enforced.
Ques. What kind of jobs do B.A. English graduates from Amity Noida typically get, and what is the average salary?
Ans. Graduates from the B.A. (English) program at Amity Noida typically find placements in content writing, digital marketing, publishing, journalism, corporate communications, PR, and teaching. Key recruiters include media companies (Aaj Tak, Zee News, Star News), publishing houses (Sage Publications), and content/digital agencies. The average salary for English graduates is in the range of Rs. 2-4 lakh per annum at entry level, with higher packages for those entering media or corporate communications. Placement support is available through the university's Corporate Resource Centre (CRC), though dedicated placement data exclusive to the English department is not separately published.
Ques. Can I get a scholarship if I scored well in CUET UG 2026 but my Class XII percentage is below 90%?
Ans. Yes, CUET-based scholarships are available even if your Class XII percentage is below 90%, but there is a minimum threshold. For a 100% CUET scholarship, you need at least 85% in Class XII AND 90 percentile or above in each section of CUET UG 2026. For a 50% CUET scholarship, you need at least 80% in Class XII AND 85-89.99 percentile in CUET UG 2026. These scholarships are valid for the 1st year only and are not continued in subsequent years.
Ques. Is the Sponsored category at Amity the same as a management quota? What are the actual differences?
Ans. The Sponsored category at Amity is essentially a lower-merit, higher-fee category. It is not exactly a management quota in the traditional sense. The key differences are: (a) Eligibility - Sponsored category requires only 60% in English in Class XII (vs. 60% aggregate + 70% in English for Non-Sponsored); (b) Fees - Sponsored students pay Rs. 1.26 lakh per semester vs. Rs. 84,000 for Non-Sponsored; (c) Scholarships - On-admission merit scholarships are generally not applicable to the Sponsored category. The Admission Committee may recommend Sponsored category admission after the selection process if a candidate does not meet Non-Sponsored criteria.
