NMIMS Bangalore Admission 2026 FAQs

Ques. How does the MBA admission process work at NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. You need to take the NMAT by GMAC test to get MBA admission. First, you register for NMAT, then use the NMAT ID to apply at NMIMS. If you get the cutoff score, you are called for a test and an interview. The final list is made using NMAT score, past marks, work history, and how you did in the test and interview.

Ques. What is the required NMAT score for getting into NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. For 2025, the NMAT cutoff score for NMIMS Bangalore is usually 209, but some say it can be between 209 and 224. Getting more than 209 gives a better chance to get selected, based on latest reports from students and official sources.

Ques. Can students apply to NMIMS Bangalore directly without an entrance exam?

Ans. NMIMS Bangalore does not give direct admission for MBA or UG courses. All seats are based on exams like NMAT (MBA), NPAT (BBA/B.Com), or LAT (Law). There is no special seat or fee for direct entry.

Ques. What is the fee structure for NMIMS Bangalore MBA program?

Ans. The MBA fee at NMIMS Bangalore is ₹22 lakh for two years. You pay ₹11 lakh each year. This covers classes and other study fees. Hostel and food fees are not part of this and must be paid extra.

Ques. What is the total number of MBA seats offered at NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. NMIMS Bangalore has 240 MBA seats. All seats are given by merit only. There are no seats by donation or special quota. 30% of the seats are kept for girl students.

Ques. What entrance exams are necessary for different programs at NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. You need NMAT for MBA. You need NPAT for BBA, B.Com, and other UG programs. Law programs need LAT. NMIMS Bangalore does not accept CAT or XAT scores for any course.

Ques. What 12th class marks are needed for BBA or B.Com at NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. You need at least 60% total marks in 12th class for BBA. For B.Com and other UG courses, you need 50%. You must also have Maths or Stats for BBA. You also need to pass NPAT.

Ques. Does NMIMS Bangalore allow multiple attempts for their entrance exams?

Ans. NMIMS Bangalore counts only the first NMAT score for MBA. For NPAT, you can try three times—one main try and two extra tries. The rules for LAT retakes are not clearly shared.

Ques. What is the application fee for NMIMS Bangalore programs?

Ans. To take NMAT, you pay around ₹2,800. For NPAT or LAT, you pay between ₹2,000 and ₹2,600. If you apply to more programs or take retakes, you pay extra.

Ques. What documents are required while applying for NMIMS Bangalore programs?

Ans. You must give a photo, ID proof, 10th and 12th marksheets, college marks (for PG), your exam scorecard, and work proof (if needed for MBA).

Ques. What steps must I follow to apply for the NMIMS Bangalore MBA program?

Ans. First, register for NMAT by GMAC and pay the fee. After getting your NMAT number, go to the NMIMS site and fill the MBA form using that number. Upload needed papers like degree and ID, and pay the form fee. If your NMAT score is good, you will be called for tests and interviews before the final list is made.

Ques. Is there any age restriction for applying to NMIMS Bangalore programs?

Ans. There is no age limit for MBA and other PG courses. But for BBA and B.Com, you must be below 25 years old. This rule is in the official notice, so check the NMIMS site for full info on each course.

Ques. Are 12th board marks critical for MBA admissions at NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. 12th marks are not a big factor for MBA at NMIMS Bangalore. You must have 50% in your college degree. MBA admission is based on NMAT and later rounds. But for BBA and B.Com, 12th marks do matter and you need to meet the required score.

Ques. Is CAT accepted for NMIMS Bangalore MBA admission?

Ans. NMIMS Bangalore does not take CAT scores for MBA. It only takes NMAT by GMAC. You must also clear tests and interviews after NMAT. CAT and other exams are not used for MBA at this campus.

Ques. What is the application fee for NPAT and LAT exams at NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. NPAT fee is about ₹2,000 for one course. You pay more for each extra course. LAT fee is also ₹2,000 for each student. These fees are listed in the official NMIMS form rules and paid online.

Ques. How can admission be withdrawn after getting selected at NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. To cancel admission, give a written letter and original papers to the office before the deadline. You will get some money back as per UGC and NMIMS rules. A fee will be cut. All steps, forms, and dates are given on the NMIMS site. Late canceling may get less or no refund.

Ques. What is the entrance exam format for BBA/B.Com at NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. The NPAT test is online and has 120 questions. The paper has reasoning, math, and English parts. You get 100 minutes. Each question is equal. No marks are cut for wrong answers. You can take the test three times in total.

Ques. What is the entrance exam pattern for law programs at NMIMS Bangalore?

Ans. The LAT test has 150 multiple-choice questions. It has English, law topics, math, logic, and current news. The test takes two hours. There is no minus marking. The LAT checks if you are ready to study law, as per NMIMS notice.

I chose NMIMS Bangalore over KJ Somaiya from where i got an offer as well because NMIMS is a brand name, the batch size compared to KJ Somaiya is one third and the average placement is higher as well. One other reason would be the high cost of living in Mumbai. I applied to KJ Somaiya and TAPMI as well. Rejected KJ Somaiya and didn’t get shortlisted for TAPMI. I got rejected from TAPM, their shortlisting criteria completely changed and I couldn’t do anything to change it. The admission process for NMIMS Bangalore is basically by clearing the NMAT exam, I scored around 230 and the cut off for it was i think around 224. NMIMS only take NMAT for consideration. The overall admission process is smooth only. Once you get the offer letter you just have to upload your documents and they will upload them in sometime

I applied for many colleges and got selected for almost all leaving majorly IIM Indore because of my lack of preparation as I could only give a month's time towards its preparation which is much less than expected. I chose NMIMS out of the other colleges as it had better ranking in particular to BBA course in India and I belived that it is a much much big banner that will help me in my future as well. I have also talked about the admission process in previous sections that it has an enterance test with the name of NMAT which is an aptitude test conducted online with medium difficulty level. After one clears the NMAT test they get the eligible list of colleges according to their score. Then it depends on the college whether after than a PI will be conducted or not like in my case no further PI or GD happened. After my NMAT I chose the bangalore campus and then we had to pay the fee for the first year and that's it.

NMIMS Bangalore: 1 Answered Question

How do I prepare for the CDPI in NMIMS, Mumbai? Will I get admission into NMIMS, Bangalore if my Mumbai CDPI does not go well?

Prasanth Reddyformer Placement Executive at SVKM's NMIMS (2017-2019)

Preparing for the CD PI round is a crucial part because your chances of admission depend on them largely. My answer entails the tips one must adhere to before and during the Case Discussion round.

Before Case Discussion

Be well versed in current affairs, general knowledge and industry trends.

Prepare arguments on some specific topics including both sides of the argument

Prepare concise but concrete points

Mock discussions are the most precise way to prepare for CD

Analyze your own performance relentlessly and keep improving

During Case Discussions

  • During the initial 15 minutes, deliver 2-3 strong points
  • Present the problem in a crisp manner
  • Support your points with real-life examples or that from current affairs. Supporting your own or even others' points through reasoning and examples will get you free points
  • Summarize all the good points given by the others on a sheet of paper to give a nice ending note
  • Give chance to the silent speakers this might impress the panelists
  • Add recommendations and support it with relevant information

Personal Interview

  • Know about yourself like your abilities, strengths, and weaknesses and present it in a good manner
  • Practice the interview with someone and receive feedbacks
  • You should prepare on personal information, education background, work experiences, hobbies, interests, future plans, and current affairs.

Mock CD and PI are extremely important as the advice and feedback received will increase your performance and confidence tremendously.

Coming to the second part of your question, Both colleges have different merit lists. If you don't do well in NM Mumbai rounds, you still stand a chance to convert your NM Bangalore/Hyderabad call, provided you’ve applied for a PGDM course as well.
