PhD Eligibility Criteria 2025
- The eligibility criteria for NIU Noida PhD are given below:
- 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
- A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
- Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

PhD Selection Criteria 2025
The selection criteria for PhD at NIU Noida is as follows:
- Entrance test shall be qualifying with qualifying marks as 50%.
- Final merit list will be prepared by adding marks obtained in the entrance test (70% out of 100 marks) and 30% marks to the interview obtained (as per latest UGC regulations).
- The students who have qualified UGC-NET with JRF / UGC-CSIR-NET with JRF / teacher fellowship holder or any other Government / Foreign research fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil. Programme (as per UGC Regulations 2009 or amended thereafter) with course work shall be exempted from the entrance test but they have to appear in the interview.
- The interview will be based on allotment of marks as per the following criteria:
✓ Competence for proposed research – 10 marks
✓ Feasibility/suitability of plan – 10 marks
✓ Novelty of Plan – 10 marks

NIU Noida offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in diverse disciplines like Arts, Education, Science, Journalism, Engineering & Technology, and Management, among others. Admissions to Technical Programs, offered at NIU, happen through the NSAT (NIU Scholarship cum Admission Test) or through GD/PI for Non-Technical programs. I chose Delhi University during my selection of Universities before CUET, but since there was no course of International Relations present in DU and JNU on Bachelor's level, I instead opted for Noida international University.
The admission process is pretty simple, you just need to get 50% or higher in your boards and you are good to go. This university prefers Boards, but CUET will work too.

I choose this college because at that time the fee of this college is less as compared to other colleges in this region. And like its infrastructure, location and environment of this university.
At other colleges in greater noida, there is too much crowd outside of the colleges leading to high traffic jam. NIU is at outer side so no such problems we are facing.
There is no such GD or PI for your admission in this college. You jast have to submit the documents they asked for only. And you got the admission.

I chose Noida international University over gl bajaj and galgotias university primarily because of its strong emphasis on area of study research in robotics. While gl bajaj had a renowned faculty in the field, Noida interatinal university offered more hands-on research opportunities
The admission process at NIU was quite simple. I submitted my application by the early decision
And I got Direct admission from my 12th result
