Hostel provided by the University is wonderful. It doesn't charge for accommodation, it changes 1400(INR) per month for dining facility and provides overall good quality food. The hall of residence also has a separate air conditioned reading room, common room and provides numerous sports facilities within the hall campus.

Hostels are home. We don't get homesickness. Our hostel has 600 rooms. For first year pg students, it is 4 seater and final year students ,it is 3 seater . If you are a phd student, it is 2 seater and 3 seater for mbbs and bds students. Each student will get a big cupboard ,table ,bed and chair. Each room has 4 plug points ,3 lights ,2 fans and 4 cupboards. The meal quality of hostel is excellent. There is a timetable for menu. We will get non veg for 3 days in a week and sweat in one day. Registration process is little hectic. We have to see warden, provost and after that room will be alloted. Hostel fees is really affordable which include only mess fees and laundry fees (1500 per month). There are timings for girls hostel. 6 am -6:30pm generally and 6 am to 5:30 pm at winter. Parents can visit at any day

The room is very spacious compared to other University hostels. One room holds 3 or 4 students each of them gets one table one bed and one shelf and for the PhD and medical students the room allows two student's. The menu is north indian food. The hotel availability is based on the merit seat and it is right

The Students of Ist year didn't get hostel for one year and have to accommodate themself outside the campus, especially purani chungi has lot of PG. The quality of meals depends on the hostel allotment as there are many kitchens and have different cooks due to which quality varies from hostel to hostel. A student has to pay 1400/month for dinning.

The Hostels are allotted during the admission process itself. There are 19 Halls of Residence in total and one Non-Resident Students Centre (NRSC). Out of the total, 13 hostels are for boys and 04 are for girls.
All the hostels in AMU have sharing rooms. There are four-seater, three-seaters and two-seaters rooms. No individual room is allotted to students in hostels. In case a student needs a single room then he can opt for a private hostel or PG’s around the university. Basic facilities in hostel rooms such as light, fan, cupboards are available. The hostels are situated in the midst of scenic beauty.
The hostel facilities at AMU are really very good. It provides a new corporate life at the University. Each hall has a Common Room with facilities for indoor games, a Reading Room, Library, Sports Clubs, and a Literary and Cultural Society. Also, Self-governance by students is encouraged. Badminton courts, Basketball courts, and TT Tables are also present in all hostels
Internet Connectivity: Internet connectivity is good in the hostels. High-speed WI-FI service of 72MBps is available in the hostels of AMU.
Cheap Dining fee: The monthly dining charges of AMU hostels vary between 1000–1300 per month, which is really cheap as compared to other government universities.
Canteens are also available on the campus as well as around the hostels. Water supply in the washrooms is available 24 hours. Power cut-off is very rare in these hostels. All in all, a student will not be disappointed if he /she opts for a hostel facility at Aligarh Muslim University considering the facilities provided in it.
