AMU MD FAQs
Ques. What is Tahaffuzi-wa-Samaji Tibb, and why should I choose this specialisation?
Ans. Tahaffuzi-wa-Samaji Tibb is the Unani equivalent of Preventive and Social Medicine (Community Medicine). It covers public health principles, epidemiology, environmental health, occupational health, and social determinants of disease from the Unani perspective. This specialisation is particularly relevant today given the growing integration of AYUSH in India's public health system. Graduates can work in government AYUSH health departments, CCRUM, national health programmes, and as faculty in Unani colleges. It is also a strong foundation for those interested in public health research combining traditional and modern medicine.
