AMU Beauty Care FAQs
Ques. Is the Certificate Course in Beauty Care at AMU a full-time regular course or a part-time skill course?
Ans. The Certificate Course in Beauty Care at AMU is a part-time, short-term vocational skill development course offered by the Centre for Skill Development and Career Planning (CSDCP). It is NOT a full-time regular academic programme. The course is structured in batches - Long Term Batch (for AMU bonafide female students) and Short Term Batches (open to all eligible women). Students can pursue this course alongside their regular studies or other commitments, making it highly flexible.
Ques. Who can apply for the Certificate Course in Beauty Care at AMU - is it only for AMU students?
Ans. The course is open to a wider group of women beyond just AMU students. Eligible candidates include bonafide female students of AMU, ex-students of AMU, external female candidates from outside AMU, and homemakers. The Long Term Batch is exclusively for AMU bonafide female students, while the Short Term Batches are open to all eligible women. The minimum qualification required is 10th pass or equivalent.
Ques. What are the three levels of Beauty Culture courses offered at CSDCP, and what do they cover?
Ans. CSDP offers three progressive levels of Beauty Culture courses: Beauty Culture-I focuses on Skin Care (basic skin treatments, facials, cleansing, and related techniques); Beauty Culture-II focuses on Hair Care (hair treatments, styling, and related techniques); and Beauty Culture (Advance) covers advanced beauty techniques combining both skin and hair care at a professional level. Students can enrol in one or all three levels progressively to build a comprehensive skill set in beauty and wellness.
Ques. Does completing this certificate course from AMU help in getting a job or starting a business?
Ans. Yes, the Certificate in Professional Skill Courses from AMU's CSDCP is designed with employability and entrepreneurship in mind. Graduates can work as beauty therapists, salon assistants, or start their own beauty parlour or home-based beauty services. The "Earn While You Learn" model at CSDCP also gives students practical exposure during the course itself. While the certificate is not equivalent to a formal degree, it provides recognised skill training from a central university, which adds credibility when seeking employment or clients.
Ques. Is hostel accommodation available for students enrolled in the Beauty Care certificate course at AMU?
Ans. No, hostel accommodation is NOT provided for students enrolled in part-time or skill development courses at CSDCP, as per AMU's residential policy. The university's hostel facilities are reserved for students enrolled in full-time regular academic programmes. Students from outside Aligarh who wish to attend the course will need to arrange their own accommodation in the city.
Ques. How do I get the latest admission schedule and batch dates for the Beauty Care course at CSDCP, AMU?
Ans. The CSDCP does not follow the same centralised admission process as regular AMU courses.
