About AMU B.Tech
Aligarh Muslim University offers a four-year, full-time B.Tech in 10 branches at Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, with 509 seats in all. You get in through AMUEEE, the university's own entrance test, and then its online counselling. The university does not take JEE Main for this degree. The full fee without hostel is INR 1.02 Lakhs in the seven core branches, INR 2.06 Lakhs in Food Technology and INR 2.82 Lakhs in AI and EV. NIRF placed the university #34 in engineering in 2025. The Class of 2024 had a median pay of INR 6 LPA, and 56% of graduates were placed.

AMU B.Tech Eligibility
You need 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths taken together in Class 12. An AMU Diploma in Engineering with 50% also counts. You must write AMUEEE, and the same rule holds in every branch.

AMU B.Tech Admission Process
The steps are the form, AMUEEE, counselling registration, the firm list and the fee. You fill your branch order on the counselling portal. The university gives you the highest branch on your list that your merit reaches. Once you pay, you move up on your list without joining later rounds.

AMU B.Tech Scholarships
The post-matric scholarship for SC and ST students pays the full fee of INR 1.02 Lakhs if family income is up to INR 2.5 Lakhs. The Central Sector Scheme pays INR 56,000 over four years. PwBD students pay only INR 100 as admission charges in year 1.

You want the lowest fee for a software branch: it costs INR 25,500 a year, while AI from the same department costs INR 70,500.
Your AMUEEE merit puts you on firm list 1: Computer Engineering gave only two seats to new students after firm list 1 in 2026, and none in the mop-up rounds.

B.Tech Eligibility▾
Class 12 marks: 50% in English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths taken together.
Diploma route: An AMU Diploma in Engineering, or an equal diploma, with 50% marks also counts.
Exam needed: AMUEEE, one paper of 100 questions on Physics, Chemistry and Maths. JEE Main is not used.
Same rule, every branch: All 10 branches use the same marks rule and the same AMUEEE merit.
Internal or external: You are internal only if you passed Class 12 from AMU as a regular student in the last three years.
B.Tech Admission Process▾
Apply online: Fill the AMUEEE form on the Controller of Examinations site in February.
Write AMUEEE: The test is held in April at Aligarh, Lucknow, Srinagar, Kolkata, Patna and Kozhikode.
Fill your branch order: If your roll number is on the select or chance memo list, register on the counselling portal and list branches in the order you want them.
Pay on the firm list: Pay the admission fee in the days given, or you lose the seat.
Move up on your own: Once you pay, you move up to a higher branch on your list when a seat opens. You need not join later rounds.
