Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University was founded in the year 2004 by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

TNPESU offers UG, PG, Doctoral, and PG Diploma courses in Sports and Physical Education. The university offers B.Sc. program in two specializations, M.Sc. program with 5 specializations, M.Tech, M.P.Ed., and MBA course of 2-years duration each. The university also offers Ph.D. in 7 specializations and M.Phil. of one-year duration in 6 disciplines. Also, candidates can join PG Diploma program of 18 months duration.

Admission to B.Sc., M.Sc., MA and M.Tech program is given on the basis of the applicant’s merit in the qualifying examination.
Admission to M.PEd. and MBA program is given through the entrance test conducted by the university.
Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. and M.Phil program are admitted through the entrance test and interview round conducted by the university.
Selection of the eligible candidates for admission to PG Diploma course is done based on the marks obtained on the qualifying examination.
The university offers an offline mode of application to the candidates.

Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University offer B.Sc. in Exercise Physiology and Sports Coaching course of three-year duration.

Candidates who have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by the Syndicate of the university are considered eligible to this program.

Admission to the course is given on the basis of the applicant’s merit in the qualifying examination.

The University offers M.Sc. program with 5 specializations, MA in Sociology, MBA, M.Tech in Sports Technology, and M.PEd. Program in its curriculum.

Candidates who hold Bachelor’s Degree with Diploma degree in Sports Coaching are considered eligible to get admission to M.Sc. Sports Coaching program. The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to M.Sc. Exercise Physiology and Nutrition is candidates must have completed B.Sc. in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition, Physical Education, Nutrition and Dietetics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Nursing, Botany, B.PEd, or BPE program. Those who hold a Graduation degree in any discipline are considered eligible to get admission to the remaining M.Sc. disciplines, MA Sociology and MBA program. Students with BE or B.Tech degree in Sports Technology are eligible to join M.Tech course. The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to M.PEd. Program is candidates must hold B.PEd. Or BPE degree from a recognized university.

Admission to M.PEd. and MBA program is given through the entrance test conducted by the university. While admission to M.Sc., MA and M.Tech program is given on the basis of the applicant’s merit in the qualifying examination.

TNPESU Ph.D. and M.Phil. Admission 2023

TNPESU offers Ph.D. course of two-year duration with M.Phil or three-year duration without M.Phil. with 7 specializations and M.Phil. Course of one-year duration with 6 disciplines in its academic curriculum.

Candidates who have completed M.Sc., M.Phil. Or Master’s degree in relevant discipline is considered eligible to get admission to the Ph.D. course. Candidates who hold M.Sc. or Master’s degree in relative specialization are eligible to join M.Phil. Course.

Admission to Ph.D. and M.Phil. Course is given on the basis of the applicant’s merit in the entrance test, interview round and merit in the qualifying examination. Applicants who secure more than 50% marks in the entrance test, interview and qualifying examination are shortlisted for admission.

Candidates have to fill the application form in offline mode. Candidate can either visit the university office in person/ by post or by post on payment by Demand Draft.

How to Apply

By Post:

Send a DD of INR 575 (INR 325 for SC, ST candidates) in favour of ‘The Registrar, Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University’, payable at Chennai.
Candidate will then receive the application form along with the prospectus.
Fill in the application form and affix the necessary documents and submit it by the post.

In Person:

Visit the university campus to collect the form in person.
Pay the application form of INR 500 (INR 250 for SC, ST candidates)
Fill in the form and submit it person along with the necessary documents.

Download from website:

Visit the official website of the university and download the application form from the link provided.
Take a print out of the form and fill it completely with valid details.
Submit the form along with required documents and application fees of INR 500 (INR 250 for SC/ST candidates).

Download the form and take the hard copy.

Attach the mandatory documents and pay the application fees.

TNPESU PG Diploma Admission 2023

Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University offer PG Diploma program of 18 months duration in Sports Coaching.

Candidates who have completed Graduation Degree with three times representation at the national level competition or B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed. Degree with minimum two times participation at the Inter-University level is eligible to get admission to PG Diploma program.

Admission to the course is given based on the candidate’s merit in the qualifying examination.

I had much fascination with the sports so I chose this particular field of bachelor of business administration where it was easy to get enrolled. Also, the admission process was offline and there were registration charges of INR 375 so along with it I submitted required documents at the student admission counter.
