- Simulator classes and captains, officers and commandor teaching ya the subjects

- Language barriers, at times it's difficult to have conversation
- Food in the messs is not as expected or wanted
Placement Experience:
AMET university promises 90% of placement.
We have different companies around the globe that come for placement interviews for cadets undergoing the bsc program.
The starting package is 350000-450000 per annum(varies from company) and it can go upto 675000-850000 per MONTH (once u become a captain)

- The teachings and practical are done by ex seafarers due to which they explain the topics really well and subjects are taught mostly by captains
- They also have a ship structured campus to give pre sea experience and have a good infrastructure
Dislikes
- The poor maintenance of hostel bathroom and water problem
- Poor food quality usually the lunch and breakfast and the utensils like sppons are not properly cleaned
Placement Experience:
The placement are based on theri academic performance and are abel to sit for placement interview from 2 semester of first year itself
The university offers 90% placements and for those who don't get placed are given small job in university and are listed for upcoming companies for interview and for getting placed a cadet should maintain a cgpa of 7 to 8.5

- they provide abroad education which is no use
- the food is ok for the giving money but the hostel is bad
- teachers are very supportive and good natured and they will also support if u have any talent
Dislikes
- abroad college program is very expensive and no placement after all that
- hostel is very bad and stright ruls and humid is at its peak
- there are lots of club which is no use at all no fest and no extra activities
Course Curriculum Overview:
my curriculum is no ues they don't teach anything related to our course and they teach which is not ment for us because our strength in class is very less and makes no use of putting efforts on us waste of money

- The college provides with much placements and cadetships as for my opted course if you maintain a good CGPA and no history of arrears
Dislikes
- The comparisons and politics which goes on and on for each position and power.
- The inequality they show at each cadets. At this university, if you’re a girl, they’ll provide you with everything.
- The hostels can be improved much better and the food too.
Placement Experience:
Campus Interviews are provided from the first year itself but of course as everywhere there is, there are politics here too. you should be really cunning so as to place in an interview as much as the CGPAs too.

- Campus Life is good.They will train to be a good cadet which can be helpful in ship.
- They train as to be well disciplined and punctual and this will help in ship and life.They are providing better placement than any other maritime academy college.
Dislikes
- Some things like the campus is well maintained but good protection is needed.
- Hostel and accomodation has to be enabled.
- the campus is wifi enabled sometimes it cannot be used.
Course Curriculum Overview:
My way towards this course is very simple I was always fascinated by ships and it became my passion and then I thought why wouldn't turn my passion into a profession and I chose this profession . They provide us with discipline and punctuality so which helps us to learn life.

In Bsc Nautical Science Student are eligible for the placement from the starting of 3rd year if they don't have any arrear or back in their semester and if someone doesn't get the placement then they can directly approach to the company by mailing them their resume...

- Faculties, Captains are way too good at teaching they teach with their experience.
- Curricular activity and sports are quite fun after a long hectic day.
- The way they teach you discipline, manners, time management, responsibilities, etc.
Dislikes
- Hostel rooms as they don't have proper ventilation
- Way too hectic schedule throughout the day
- Seniors are incharge of taking muster so some seniors take it as an advantage and gives us some extra punishments in order to satisfy the own personal grudges
Placement Experience:
Top companies like Mersk, V-ships, Wallem, Thome, MSC, MSI, etc. are collaborated with AMET University.
Our University has the best placement record of 80% each year. If you study hard and get above 9 CGPA there is a 90% of chance of your placement from Cllg itself.
In any case if you don't get placed you can fill the forms and get placed.
The pakage starts from 3LPA to 7LPA depending upon the company and type of ship alloted to you.
As I'm placed so after getting the degree I'll join my company after our waiting period n start earning.

- The things that i liked inside the campus was the seniors they are really friendly and helpfull
Dislikes
- The things that i dont like inside the campus was they are not giving proper time inside library
Course Curriculum Overview:
I choose this course because I want to travel all over the world and experience different culture tradition languages and people. All the faculty members are well-experienced captains and navy officers.
The curriculum was entirely different from another engineering course we are studying about navigation marine laws climate types of vessels types of cargoes chart work etc.

Placement Experience:
The placement of amet is okay.
In the batch of 300, almost 150 cadets are placed with world-class companies.
Some companies who visited for the placement are. MAERSK LINE, BW SHIPPING, GOODWOOD SHIP MANAGEMENT, FLEET SHIP MANAGEMENT, NYK SHIP MANAGEMENT, CHEVRON, and lots more.
And every cadet gets placement in that company who gives around 500USD as a stipend and after that around 3000 USD.
Almost 50 to 60 percent of students get placed in amet.
As I am already placed by the world no. 1 shipping company MAERSK LINE so after completing my degree I will work for that company.

What is the best way to get from Chennai Central to AMET University?

The best way to travel from Chennai Central to AMET University is via an auto/bus.

You can board a bus from Chennai Central to Parrys Bus Stand. From the Parrys Bus Stand, you can avail of Bus 109 which goes through Kanathur. It will take you 45 minutes to reach the AMET campus in this way.
