Kerala Agriculture University (KAU) Vellanikkara, Kerala is an agricultural university that offers various programs in agriculture, horticulture and forestry. From 2011, the university is trifurcated into Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU), Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) and Kerala Agricultural University.
The University has six colleges (three Agriculture, one Agricultural Engineering, one Forestry, one Co-operation Banking & Management), six RARSs, seven KVKs, 15 Research Stations and 16 Research and Extension Units under the faculties of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Forestry. In addition, one Academy on Climate Change Adaptation and one Institute of Agricultural Technology offering M.Sc. (Integrated) Climate Change Adaptation and Diploma in Agricultural Sciences respectively are also functioning in Kerala Agricultural University. The University has five campuses in Vellayani, Padannakad, Vellanikkara, tavanur, and pattambi.
It offers Diploma courses, Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Integrated and doctoral degree programmes in the field of agriculture.
The University follows the online mode of application only. Students are admitted to the Under Graduate courses of the university on the basis of the ranks obtained in the common entrance examination (CEE) conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala.
Application forms for all Under Graduate courses other than B.Sc (C&B) can be obtained from institutions listed in the Government Notification regarding Common Entrance Examination, issued from time to time.
Admissions to BSc Co-operation and Banking (C&B) course are made on merit.

For the PG courses, admissions are made on the basis of merit scored in the entrance test conducted by the university. For the admissions to Ph.D., selections are made by the committee constituted by the University for the purpose on the basis of written test and interview. Ph. D. admissions are on the basis of interviews. Application forms for PG courses can be downloaded from this website.
The foreign students shall apply for admission to the Programmes of the Kerala Agricultural University through the Indian Missions in the respective country and the application with bio-data and copies of certificates to prove qualification and age has to be forwarded to the Government of India by the Indian Embassy/Mission in concerned country. The Govt. of India, ICAR or EdCIL arranges for admission through the Indian Council of Agricultural Research/ DARE/ EdCIL. The seats allotted to foreign students will be over and above the notified strength in each course.
Admissions to all UG courses usually begin in the month of February.
University has reservation policy for ST and SC candidates.
Kerala Agriculture University, Under Graduate Admissions 2024
The University offers B.Sc (Hons.) in Agriculture in three Affiliated colleges, B.Sc Co-operation and Banking, B.Sc Forestry and B.Sc Co-operation, Banking and Management different colleges of university.
It also offers B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering and B.Tech in Food Engineering. University also runs Integrated programme such as M.Sc in climate change adaptation and M.Sc in Biotechnology. Admissions to all the Under Graduate courses are made through CEE (Common Entrance Exam) conducted by Commissioner of Entrance exam. Eligibility criteria are given in the table below.

Admissions to the course are made on the basis of the scores in KMAT, CAT, CMAT OR MAT.

Kerala Agriculture University Postgraduation Admissions 2024
University offers M.Sc and M.tech programmes in various disciplines of Agriculture, Forestry Wildlife and Co-operation, Banking and Management. Admissions to Postgraduation courses begin in the month of July every year. Mode of application is online only. Candidates who wish to take admission in these courses should regularly visit the university website for more information.

Students with three year B.Sc. (Ag.) of other Agricultural Universities and Traditional Universities are not eligible for admission to all the M.Sc Agriculture programmes; however, this is not applicable to persons already employed as teachers in the Kerala Agricultural University and Agricultural Officers in the Government of Kerala prior to 8-9-1983.
