Ans. BRIDC is an established research center funded by the Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board (KSBDB) under the Government of Karnataka. It facilitates demonstration, awareness, and dissemination of information about biofuels among the scientific community, students, farmers, and public. The center is equipped with a pilot-scale chemical reactor to produce 50 liters of biodiesel per batch, seed decorticators, mechanical expellers, and testing laboratories. Advanced analytical equipment includes HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), GC (Gas Chromatography), AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy), PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), ELISA reader, probe sonicator, lyophiliser, fermenters, Gel doc system, UV-visible spectrophotometer, cold centrifuge, and thermo-regulated incubator shakers. These facilities provide hands-on experience with modern equipment used in the biotechnology industry.
