Should you pick B.Sc Mathematics at Christ University?

This course suits students who like proof-based maths and plan on analytics, teaching or research.

Pick it if:
You want proof-based maths: the course moves from calculus to algebra, analysis and modelling across six semesters.
You want Bengaluru exposure: the Central Campus is near coaching centres, start-ups and analytics offices.
Your family needs smaller payments: the university allows fee payment in parts after office approval.
You want quick fee recovery: the full fee is low against the average pay shown above.
Skip it if:
You want only a job course: this degree needs long proofs, abstract algebra and analysis.
You need hostel certainty: Christ hostel seats are limited, so many students rent nearby rooms.
You want a pure coding degree: this course gives maths first and coding only as a support skill.
You may miss fee dates: the offer closes fast, so keep papers ready before the result.
Counsellor's advice
Take this course if maths is your main plan and the fee works for your family. If you want coding first, keep another course above it.

In short
St Joseph costs INR 17,000 less and pays about INR 0.5 LPA more, but its score line is tougher. If your score clears both, choose by course fit; if it clears only Christ University, take this seat.
In short
Mount Carmel costs INR 23,000 more and has a higher placement rate, but its average pay is lower. If you need the easier score line, keep it below Christ University as the safer seat.
In short
Kristu Jayanti costs the same but pays about INR 0.5 LPA less and has fewer seats. If Christ University gives you an offer, take it unless you prefer that campus.
In short
Jain University costs more and pays a little less, but its score line is easier. If your score misses Christ University, keep Jain University just below it.
In short
MS Ramaiah costs less but pays lower on average. If Christ University allots you a seat, take it and keep MS Ramaiah only as your backup.

Fees and pay can change. Check each college site before you decide.

FAQs on Christ University B.Sc Mathematics

Straight answers to what students ask before they decide.

Is B.Sc Mathematics at this college worth the fee?▾
Yes, for most students who get placed. The full fee without hostel is INR 2.57 Lakhs and the last batch averaged INR 4.5 LPA, so the fee comes back within the first working year. If a loan will pay the fee, read the EMI line in the fee block above before you decide.
Should I take this seat if my rank is just above the closing rank?▾
Not on last year's number alone. The General Regular seat closed at rank 12,400 in final round and it got tougher three years in a row, so a rank that just cleared last year may miss this year. Keep this college in your list with a safer college above it, and use the rank checker above for your own category.
What job will I get after this course?▾
Most students get analytics, teaching and research support roles with analytics and education companies that hire on campus in the seventh semester. The latest placement report averaged INR 4.5 LPA, the median was INR 4 LPA and 80% of the batch was placed. If you want a physics or engineering job instead, this branch is not the right pick.
Who should not take this course here?▾
Skip it if you need a single room from the first year, or if you want internships in a big city. First-years share three to a room and single rooms open only from year 3. The campus is in Bengaluru, so students can look for analytics internships outside class. If either of these matters more than the placement figures, check whether the course still matches your plan.
Is this course right for higher studies and research?▾
Yes, if you plan for it from year 2. The course has no minor and no specialisation before year 3, but the electives in year 3 cover analysis, algebra and modelling, and the final project can lead to a research paper. Talk to the department in year 2 about a project with a faculty member, because that is what a strong master's application needs.
Should I wait a year and try for a better rank?▾
Only if you can raise your rank by a lot, not a little. The General closing rank got tougher three years in a row, so a small gain may still miss the seat next year. If you already clear this year's cutoff, take the seat now and try a branch change after year 1 if you want a sibling branch.
Will I get placed if I am in the bottom half of the batch?▾
Most likely yes, but later and at a lower package. 80% of the last batch was placed, and the median of INR 4 LPA is lower than the average of INR 4.5 LPA because the last students take the smaller offers. Keep your CGPA above the cutoff the companies set, usually 7, and join the placement training the cell holds in year 3.
Is this branch better than Physics, Mathematics at this college for me?▾
Pick Mathematics if you want a software job and Physics, Mathematics if you want a physics or engineering job. Mathematics places a bigger share of its batch with product companies, and its closing rank is the tougher of the two. If you get Physics, Mathematics now and want Mathematics, the branch change after year 1 needs a top CGPA, so do not count on it.
How do I get admission to this course?▾
Take the Christ selection exam and fill this college in your Christ admission office choice list. A seat comes in the round your rank clears, and you must accept it and pay the seat fee within the days Christ admission office gives. Then report with your papers on the date in the admission dates block above, or you lose the seat.
What is the full fee for the course?▾
The full 3-year fee is INR 2.57 Lakhs without hostel. With hostel and mess it comes to INR 7.97 Lakhs. Both totals sit in the fee block above, and the toggle there shows what the hostel adds each year.
Can I pay the fee in parts?▾
Yes. You pay the tuition fee semester by semester, so the money is never due all at once. If you need smaller parts than that, write to the fee office before the semester starts; the request opens every August.
Do I get the fee back if I drop the seat?▾
It depends on when you leave. If you leave before the counselling body's exit date, most of the fee comes back. If you leave after it, the college keeps a part, so read the refund table in the fee block before you pay.

Does Christ University Bangalore offer placements for Law courses?

Vipul MishraLLM in Intellectual Property and Trade Law from Christ University (2016 - 2018 Batch)

SLCU Christ University is one of the best private Law colleges in India. SLCU Law ranking by IIRF is 16 out of 50 in India in 2024 and it was ranked #17 out of 70 by India Today in 2023.

I did my LLM in Intellectual Property and Trade Law from SLCU Christ University in 2018. I can say it is one of the top private universities to do LLM courses because of its education Quality, teaching methods, etc. SLCU offers decent placements with lucrative offers and high ROI. The Department has a seperate placement cells which guides and trains students for placements, how to face Group discussions for interviews, etc. Right from the final semester SLCU's active placement cells starts teaching students; how to sit for the interview, to talk and negotiate for high package, building an attractive CV, etc. The average CTC package when I completed my graduation at SLCU Christ University was between INR 4 - 7 LPA and for sure it is above INR 7 LPA these days. Luthra and Luthra, S&R Associates, Khaitan & Co., Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and AZB & Partners are some top recruiters in SLCU for LLM graduates.

Is pursuing LLM at School of Law, Christ University expensive?

Uttam KumarLLM from Christ University (2021 Batch)

Christ University has a separate school for its law course that is School of Law - Christ University. SLCU offers several Law courses at UG, PG, Diploma and Doctorate level. It offers 3 LLM courses at a fees Structure ranging between INR 1,50,000 - 2,50,000 based on LLM specializations.

Pursuing a LLM course from SLCU Christ University Bangalore at a fees of INR 2.50 Lakhs is not expensive as per my perspective. For financially weaker students, SLCU Christ University Bangalore also provides Education Loan and many scholarships. I myself was one such user to get Scholarships from Christ University. Scholarships at SLCU are offered based on academic results of a student during LLM course. When compared to other colleges offering LLM and the Education Quality and facilities offered at Christ University, fees is reasonable.

Can I pursue LLB from Christ University without BBA or BA?

Rohan TiwariLLM from Christ University (2016 Batch)

No, you cannot pursue LLB from Christ University without BBA or BA. My name is Rohan Tiwari. I have completed an LLM from Christ University. This is the same question that I had before.

Christ University, Bangalore offers different law courses including integrated LLB and LLM. School of love Christ University does not offer a direct LLB course. Candidates wishing to pursue LLB course must have to complete 10 + 2 or any Bachelors Degree for minimum 3 years. One cannot opt LLB without any prior Bachelor's degree. But if anyone likes to do only LLB then they have to spend 1 year extra which means that if someone has intentionally or unintentionally completed a 3-years degree course like BA, BCom, BBA, etc. then one can pursue a 3 years LLB course. So I have done BA Hons from Pune University but due to the transfer of my father, we relocated to Bangalore and later on I got interested in Law studies so I opted for a 3-years LLB course at Christ University. I spent 6-years for BA and LLB courses. So according to my experience it is better to pursue integrated LLB courses with BBA / BA or BCom, etc.

Aisha KhanMBA Marketing from Christ University (2015 - 2017 Batch)

I have completed my MBA from Christ University. I have good connections with Christ University, and they call me for counseling and mentoring the current MBA batches. Mostly I come across the question of whether science graduates can pursue an MBA at Christ University.

First of all, candidates who wish to get admission into Christ University must be well acquainted with the eligibility criteria set by the University for MBA admission. Aspirants must complete a Bachelor's degree in any stream with a minimum aggregate of 60%. In addition to that, they must qualify MAT / CAT / CMAT / XAT / GMAT / GRE / ATMA. Finally, shortlisted candidates are called for GD/ PI and document verification.

Do I need Work Experience to be selected by Christ University for an MBA?

Shahzad KhanMBA Human Resources Management from Christ University (2017 - 2019 Batch)

As a Christ University student, I would like to answer this question for you.

I have completed an MBA in Human Resources Management from Christ University in 2019. As per my knowledge, experience plays an important role in MBA admission into any top College/ University like Christ.

MBA Admissions at Christ University are entrance-based. Aspirants must qualify an MBA entrance and face GD PI rounds to get admission. For some MBA specializations and Executive MBA, one may also be asked for a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in the relevant field.

After my bachelor's, I started working in a 4-star hotel and took a break from my studies. There I worked for 2 years and gained important knowledge and skills. I was given preference over other candidates because of my work experience.

This is how work experience plays a role in MBA admissions at Christ University.
