Eligibility Criteria

Fees and Financial Aid:

I am paying 300000 per year as i got admission under slab 3. There are usually 3 slabs one lakh is the fee for dirst slab students and similarly 2 lakhs for slab 2 students. I applied for aeee exam and jee exam to get admission in this college

Why to Choose Amrita

Fees and Financial Aid:

I paid 3lakhs yearly where 225000 is for the college and 75000 is for the hostel. Caution fees is of 10000, lab fee management fee comes under the college fee only, there is scholarship as well if we get a good rank in the exam conducted by Amrita to get admission. The scholarship would vary according to the rank and we can avail upto 90% os scholarship.

Student who wants to get a seat through management quota have to be pay INR 6 Lakhs Rupees every year. Student who got seat through merit based list will have to pay INR 2.4 Lakhs. Hostel fees will be INR 1.07 Lakhs. And a caution deposit of 10000 rupees is included.

This is sarath from Amrita school of engineering. I'm presently attaining ECE 4th year. As of now placements are also going good and when I joined the college there was a entrance examination according to the rank attained in the exam your fee slabs will be decided. I have joined the college with slab-1 which costs 1lakh per annum and i don't know the present fee structure it maybe around 4-5lakh and hostel fee is 1lakh every year with 10,000 caution deposit. It's a 40 acer campus, there will sports conducted in inter-campus level. Many events and fest will also be taking place. You get everything based on academics and cultural basis.

The fee I am paying is 260000 per year in the third slab of scholarship seat. The college does have management quota but it doesn't have much of a difference with 320000 as the fee for non scholarship quota

Dislikes

The college mandates 75 percentage attendance for every student, in every subject.

Fees and Financial Aid:

There are four fee slabs under scholarship category, if we enter through AEEE, which is the entrance exam conducted by Amrita university exclusively, for its own students. Based on the rank obtained in AEEE exam, and the course you prefer, you'll be eligible for any of the 4 fee slabs, where the first fee slab is around 1.6-2 lakhs per year(varies slightly based on the course you choose), second slab is around 2-2.25 lakhs per year, third slab is around 2.6-3 lakhs per year, and fourth slab is around 3-3.5 lakhs per year. There is also a non-scholarship regular category, under which the fees is around 4-5 lakhs per year. In the scholarship category, you can enter with AEEE rank or with JEE percentile.

What should be my decision to join if I have 2 opportunities, VIT Chennai ECE or Amrita Bangalore CSE groups?

ECE and CSE are two different departments, providing separate career opportunities. VIT Chennai and Amrita University Bangalore offer decent placement to students in these departments.

The points below give a brief overview of both the choices:

In CSE, there are excellent package offers in institutes like Amrita and VIT, thus increasing your chance of getting a good salary at the beginning of your career.
ECE is a stream of a kind, which has its own charm. In ECE, students grow slowly with time and earn decent salaries, provided they are passionate about the field of work.
ECE in VIT Chennai is a great department, having a world-class infrastructure. The curriculum is at par with the industry needs. The professors at VIT Chennai are connected to the industry and other academic institutes to aid in research.
All major electronics companies visit the campus of VIT Chennai for placement. Almost 20% of the students in the department get a package above 10 LPA in general from companies like Samsung, TI, Nutanix, etc.
A major percentage of about 70-80% of students in ECE at VIT Chennai get a package between 5-8 LPA. Companies like Cisco, Intel, Wipro VLSI, Arista Networks offer salaries in this range. There are also some non-tech companies like Deloitte, E&Y, Bank of America, PWC, Wells Fargo, etc that recruit students from ECE.
In VIT Chennai, there are very few students who opt for job offers in service-based companies like TCS, Accenture, Infosys, CTS, etc.

Therefore, both ECE at VIT Chennai and CSE at Amrita Bangalore are good options. It is the choice of the student as to what excites him/her the most and opts for a degree in the same.
