Ques. What is the difference between full-time and part-time Ph.D. programmes at KRMU?
Ans. Full-time Ph.D. scholars are required to devote their complete time on campus for research under faculty supervision. They may receive teaching/research assistantship and are eligible for University Research Fellowships (URF) with monthly stipends ranging from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 35,000 depending on qualification. Part-time scholars are working professionals from nearby organizations who can pursue research while maintaining their employment. Full-time scholars have access to better funding opportunities, research facilities, and campus resources.
Ques. Am I exempted from the KREE entrance examination if I have UGC-NET or CSIR-NET qualification?
Ans. Yes, candidates who have qualified UGC-NET, CSIR-UGC-NET, M.Phil., or equivalent qualifications are exempted from the written entrance examination. However, they still need to appear for the personal interview conducted by the School Research Committee (SRC) to assess their research aptitude, subject knowledge, and suitability for the programme.
Ques. What is the total cost of the Ph.D. programme including all fees?
Ans. The total tuition fee for the 3-year Ph.D. programme is Rs. 3,90,000 (Rs. 1,30,000 per year or Rs. 60,000 per semester). Additionally, there is a one-time application fee of Rs. 2,000, refundable security deposit of Rs. 10,000, and non-refundable alumni fee of Rs. 2,000. The security deposit is refunded upon programme completion. Many students avail bank loans or URF scholarships to cover these costs, making the programme financially accessible.

Ans. Ph.D. scholars have access to the state-of-the-art Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) equipped with advanced analytical instruments including FTIR (Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometer), UV-VIS Spectrometer, LCR meter, DSC/TGA equipment, and other sophisticated research tools. The programme duration is flexible and depends on the completion of the chosen research work, thesis quality, and successful defense before the examination committee.
