PSSOU Admission

PSSOU Bilaspur is a state open university that provides a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, diplomas, certificates, and Ph.D.s in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. PSSOU’s admission process is set up to be flexible, accessible, and inclusive, allowing learners of all backgrounds flexibility to pursue higher education through Distance and Online modes at their pace.

Admission Process

Admission Duration: twice a year — January Session and July Session.

Mode of Application: Entirely online from the university website @https://www.pssou.ac.in.

Admission Process: Applicants complete an online application, upload documents, and pay the application fee online.

Application Fee: INR 1,000 (including counselling fees)

Eligibility

• Merit-Based Admission: Admission for most UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate courses is based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
• Entrance-Based Admission: The applicants interested in Professional programs such as B.Ed., D-El.Ed., and Ph.D. are required to qualify the PSSOU Entrance Exam followed by counselling, subsequently verifying the required documents based on merit.

Selection Criteria

For the majority of UG, PG, diploma, certificate, and PhD programs, admissions are offered on a merit basis. Marks from the qualifying exam (Class 12 for UG; graduation for PG) are used as a selection criterion. Admission for students selected after form submission and verification of documents will be done upon payment of the course fee.

Entrance Exam

PSSOU organizes entrance, including B.Ed., D.El.Ed., and Ph.D., to select candidates purely based on merit.

• Entrance Exam:
• For B.Ed and D.El.Ed: Admission through PSSOU B.Ed Entrance Exam.
• For PhD: Admission through UGC NET/JRF/SET or PSSOU PhD Entrance Exam (PRET).
• Syllabus:
  • B.Ed./D.El.Ed. - General Knowledge, Teaching Aptitude, Reasoning, Subject Knowledge
  • Ph.D. - Research Methodology & Topics relevant to the Subject area
• Result & Admission: Results will be published on @https://www.pssou.ac.in and shortlisted candidates will attend the counselling and document verification process as part of the admission process.

How to Apply For the Entrance Exam?

Documents Required

Marksheets from qualifying courses, ID proof, photographs, signature, and Category & Migration Certificat (applicable).

PSSOU Admission Re-Registration

• Purpose: To permit students who either failed to sit the exams or extended their official program duration to continue their studies, minimizing credit loss.

• Eligibility: Students maintaining an active enrollment status with incomplete programs or backlogs.

• Application Dates:

1. January Cycle: November - January
2. July Cycle: May - July

How to Apply?

• Go to the university's "Admission Online" page and click the link for `पुनः-प्रवेश (Re-Admission)`.

• Log back in using your existing log-in credentials (Application ID/Enrollment Number) and choose the Re-Admission option for the upcoming year or semester.

• If necessary, make changes to your personal/academic details and upload new documents when prompted.

• If applicable, pay the re-registration fee (INR 1000) via the online portal.

• You can check your re-admission status once the university has confirmed the payment of documents.

Students will be able to check the status of their re-registration on the PSSOU portal - “Check Application / Admission Status.”
