Krishna University was established in Machilipatnam Krishna district Andhra Pradesh in 2008 by the state of Andhra Pradesh. The university offers various courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. level to the eligible students. The aspirants are selected on the basis of marks scored in the Krishna University Common Entrance Test (KRUCET) conducted by the university.
- 85% of the seats are reserved to the eligible candidates coming from the territory of Andhra Pradesh
- The remaining 15% seats are reserved as following: i) Scheduled Caste (SC): 15% ii) Scheduled Tribes (ST): 06% iii) Backward Communities (BC) : 29% (A-7%; B-10%; C-1%; D-7%; E-4 %) iv) Physically Handicapped (PH) : 03% v) Sports : 0.5% vi) NCC : 01% vii) CAP (Children of Armed Personnel) : 02% viii) Women : 33.3% in O.C. and in each of reservation categories

Krishna University M.Phil and Ph.D Admission 2024
The university also offers M.Phil and Ph.D. courses to the students who wish to pursue higher studies in research. The courses offered are Direct Ph.D. (full time), Direct Ph.D. (part time), Direct M.Phil (full time), Direct M.Phil (part time), Ph.D. (full time) and Ph.D. (part time) for a duration period of 3-6 years as per the subject.
Eligible students are required to appear in KRUCET conducted by the university followed by a personal interview.
