Ques. Is GATE mandatory for Ph.D. in CSE at KLU? What if I have only a B.Tech degree?
Ans. GATE is not mandatory. However, GATE-qualified candidates are exempt from the written entrance test and receive a higher fellowship of Rs. 38,000/month. Candidates with only a B.Tech/B.E. degree (without M.Tech) are eligible if they have a minimum of 80% marks or CGPA of 8.0 on a 10-point scale. All other candidates with M.Tech/MCA/M.Sc. (CS) with 55% marks are eligible regardless of GATE score.
