Admission to this government university is through entrance exams like EAMCET for engineering courses, organized by the Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education. Counseling and certificate verification follow for college selection. Diploma holders can also join via the ECET exam. The faculty, mostly with M.Tech or Ph.D. qualifications, maintain a 1:80 teacher-student ratio, and the teaching quality is deemed average. Academic rigor is ensured with eight semester exams and 32 lab exams annually.
