Anurag University conducts Ph.D. admissions twice a year, typically in January and August cycles. The selection process involves a written entrance test followed by a personal interview, though candidates with valid GATE scores, UGC-NET/CSIR-NET qualifications, or significant industry/research experience are exempted from the written test. The January 2026 notification has been released and applications are currently open.

Note: A valid GATE score exempts candidates from the Anurag University Ph.D. written entrance test. UGC-NET/CSIR-NET qualified candidates are also exempted from the written test.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Engineering/Technology (M.Tech/ME) or MCA from a UGC-recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA).
• Candidates who completed a 4-year Bachelor's degree in or after 2022 with 75% marks or 8.0 CGPA and have at least 2 years of work experience are also eligible.
• A relaxation of 5% in minimum marks is applicable for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled candidates as per UGC norms.

Admission Process

• Visit the official Ph.D. Notifications page at anurag.edu.in/ph-d-notifications/ and download the latest notification.
• Submit the online application at https://www.careers.anurag.edu.in/phdform and pay the application fee of Rs. 3,000 online.
• Appear for the written entrance test (100 marks, MCQ-based, 2 hours, offline at the Anurag University campus) - applicable for candidates without GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET qualification.
• Shortlisted candidates from the written test are called for a personal interview at the university campus.
• Candidates with valid GATE/UGC-NET/CSIR-NET scores or 5+ years of industry/research experience are directly called for the interview.
• Final selection is based on merit in the entrance test and interview.
• Upon selection, complete admission formalities and pay the admission fee and first-year tuition fee.

Anurag Ph.D. ME Scholarships 2026

Anurag University offers merit-based scholarships primarily for undergraduate and postgraduate programs through the Anurag CET performance. For Ph.D. scholars, the university provides a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) stipend for full-time candidates. Part-Time Ph.D. scholars, being working professionals, are generally not eligible for the JRF stipend but may benefit from government-funded fellowships and scholarships. The university also supports research through seed funding and funded projects.

Scholarships and Fellowships

• Part-Time Ph.D. scholars who are working professionals can independently apply for government fellowships such as UGC-JRF/SRF or DST-INSPIRE if they meet the eligibility criteria.
• The JRF stipend of Rs. 35,000/month is exclusively for full-time Ph.D. scholars at Anurag University.
• SC/ST scholarship eligibility requires parental income below Rs. 2 lakhs per annum; BC/EBC/Minority requires below Rs. 1 lakh per annum, with a minimum 75% attendance requirement.
