  • The difficulty level of my course would be a solid 7 out on 10. It was a mix of both theoretical and practical. Mostly practical as the assignments and exams were more research-based and would take longer to finish. Most assignments were group assignments and a group of 4 would be made.
  • Most positive fact about my course would be its dynamic nature, research focus and practicality. Negative would be that there is too much info to digest in 1 year, especially if you are not from the same background.
  • I had 4 days of class and a maximum of 10 hours of classes per week. Mostly independent learning.
  • Average number of students in 1 class is close to 250, mainly held in auditoriums.
  • We had around 8 Indian students in a class of 250

Fees

  • The yearly tuition fee was 26,500 GBP. You can pay in quarterly instalments. The instalments would depend on how much you pay upfront.
  • Monthly expenses – Depends on your lifestyle. Since I was living at the university accommodation, it was a bit pricey. I was paying 650 GBP per month for accommodation and food (twice per day). You also get a bus pass in that for 9 odd months, which is great. Other expenses would be around 300 GBP.

  • I got my dissertation to work with the outside organization in London, which is a great industry experience.

Fees

  • It differs year to year. For me, it's approx. 18,000 GBP. This year it may differ.

  • Technical subjects are good but the non-technical side is a bit average. We often get to meet CEOs and other officials from various startups across the UK, which makes the study relevant.
  • 4 classes with a maximum of 8-10 hours a week is the pattern in the UK and there are 50-70 students on average in a class.

Fees

  • It is 20k Pounds, just the tuition fees.

  • My course is very relevant for the present and future, as the world is shifting to more renewable and sustainable energy sources.
  • No industry experience, but we had a research project (dissertation) in the second semester.
  • We have a maximum of 3 or 4 classes in a day, of 45 mins each.
  • We had almost 40 students in our class.

Fees

  • 27404 GBP for one year without an accommodation fee.

  • The course itself was not difficult. The subjects were taught in undergrad which was easy to follow. The real challenge is the assignments and the examination. It was real world applications and problems which needed solution.
  • The curriculum was a mix of theory and practical, 50:50. The course covered vast topics in cybersecurity ranging from basics to advanced forensics. We usually have max 2-3 classes scheduled per day each 1 hour. Labs are 2.5 hours. Strength was 20 and half of them were Indians.

Fees

  • The fees were £29852. In addition to that my accommodation fees were £512 per month. We can pay the tuition fees in three installments. One in October, One in January, One in April.
  • The accommodation fees can also be paid in the same manner. My laundry, electricity ,and transportation in the city were covered in my accommodation fees and i felt it was very useful. Monthly expenses were only for your groceries and occasional recreation.
  • Groceries for a month may range from £40-50, given that you take some Indian dry spices and packaged food from india. eg: Maggi, Spice powders, Dry fruits. Recreational expenses can also range from £50-100 depending on the person.

  • UoS MBA is a good mix of theory and real-world applications, most of the subjects require you do a lot of teamwork rather than individual assessment. Almost every subject has two elements: group and individual, which has a 40%- 60% weightage depending on the subject. The program is very fast, you won’t even get to know it has come to an end. In the morning we attend classes, evening the hangout with friends and night the studies and preparations for the next day.
  • MBA students don’t get holidays like other programs. For all the coursework the students can take extension but it is not advisable as you will get behind on other subjects. In MBA you also can’t do any part time work, the faculty is very against it. The average class size ranges from 50 to 60 students, with a significant representation of Indian students, approximately 10 to 15 per cohort. We have 9-5 classes everyday and even on saturdays. The course is very demanding.
  • Students are even working by themselves on sundays as well. Diverse the cohort, more the chances for you to learn new things and how much you speak to your peers will help you learn a lot. The MBA is more for networking than learning, it doesn’t support jobs as much it makes you ready to run a business, as it is more about forward thinking and strategy.

  • The course difficulty, I would give it 4/5 for someone who is familiar with the concepts or has some background. If you're unfamiliar with it, it's a solid 5/5 and you need to put in a lot of hours apart from your lectures as well. It was a mix of both practical and theory, with the practical aspect being 75% of it.
  • The most positive aspect for me was that it was highly practical based, which for me is a plus as I prefer that type of learning. The negative part would be the inclusion of high level mathematics for almost all the modules, even where not absolutely necessary.

Fees

  • The total course fees was around GBP 27000. This included the tuition fees, library fees, etc. However, it does not include the sports membership, that is to be bought separately. I hadn't taken campus residence so it wasn't included in this.
  • The fees were charged in 3 installments, which was more or less semester-wise.
  • In terms of the monthly expenses, it was around GBP 650, with the rent being GBP 500 (120 per week) and the other costs like groceries, sim card, transportation being around GBP 150.

  • The difficulty level of the course was as expected. For a PG course, students were required to focus on research and self-study included more hours than attending lectures. It was intensively theoretical, being a humanities subject.
  • The most positive aspect of the course was that students are given a choice in deciding their areas of specialised studies and can curate a course according to their interests and needs.
  • The most negative aspect was the lack of contact time with professors. Unless you sought out to meet your professors, there were not many chances to interact with the faculty.

Fees

  • Total Tuition fee: £22000
    Scholarship received: £5000
    Payable tuition fee: £17000
Total Accommodation fee (for Ensuite, including utilities and bus pass): £9660

  • The fees could be paid yearly or semester-wise, as suitable for the student. These payments could be made through bank transfers or online payments.

    Approximate monthly expenses:
    Rent: £800
    Groceries: £200
    Restaurants, socialising etc.: £100

My course had a very updated syllabus with the latest tools and technologies taught, which are required by the companies. Also, it was very flexible, as we could choose the modules we wanted to study based on our interests and goals. The modules also contain some industrial and research experience, which you get in some modules and also in your dissertation.

Fees

My tuition fee was 25000 pounds before the scholarship.
