- Flexible schedule with classes primarily 2–3 days a week.
- Strategically sited campus with transport, shop, and cafe access.
- Welcoming international office and accessible faculty members.
Dislikes
- On-campus part-time jobs are not readily available.
- Some professors are not as fascinating as others.
- Fewer industrial visits than were envisaged for a construction course.
Campus Life
- It's a comfortable campus life. IT labs, student areas, libraries, and cafes are good at SHU. You get clubs for photography, dancing, coding, and cultural clubs like Indian Society.
- Social events as well as career fairs happen quite often from the Student Union. Facilities for sports centre as well as learning commons are first-class.
Accommodation
- I discovered shared rooms from student Facebook groups. Now, it costs about £400/month, incl. bills.
- It includes heating, Wi-Fi, a washer, and a 10-minute walking distance from campus.
- On-campus costs more, about £500–£650/month depending on what room you end up with.
Dislikes
- Additional information would be helpful in terms of expectations from University for academic success, I have seen student struggling at scoring at the assignments just to realise later what's expected.
- A challenge I faced in one of my module that the project was supposed to be completed with members across different courses and those members did not really do much to support. This is due the fact people have different and priorities and goals, some just want to complete the project while other intendeds to excel. Having an option to select team members for the project will be helpful for like minded people sharing similar goals
Campus Life
- Considering work-life balance and amount of time it needs to spend for the assignments, I did not attended much events, as far as I am aware the university did had moderate activities and events. I did liked the library though, it has lot to offer.
Accommodation
- I paid around 400 GBP a month, which I found using Uni portal, they did listed a few options for accommodation in the city.
Likes
- campus is quite beautiful and its in the city center good transport facilities are available to reach the campus.
- classrooms are very modern and computers are there in every corner of campus.
- teaching faculty are good with students.
Dislikes
- online classes were not that much great compare to offline classes
- assignment's only no exams like in India we are used to give exams
- more theatrical study practical aspect is a bit low
Campus Life
- Sheffield Hallam has 2 campuses at the moment and one more is under construction. Mine was the city campus.
- There are a lot of extracurricular activities as well, like we were having a tour of York City.
- They even celebrate Indian festivals such as Diwali and Ganpati. Some events were also there in the library as well.
Accommodation
- Online platforms like SpareRoom, Zoopla, and Rightmove. I have booked my accommodation through the university; there are some other portals as well, Unidays. You can go with on-campus accommodations as well.
- A major challenge is if you are vegetarian and your roommates are not, then sharing the same kitchen with them can be a challenging situation for you.

Accommodation
Getting accommodations in the UK completely depends on the location where you want to stay. The rent is high in some parts of the UK like London and the south part of England (Average: 500 pounds for a single room)
I have researched a lot about the universities in the UK where I have prepared a list of Universities that offers the course which I want to opt for and shortlisted the list on various factors like Quality of education, location of University, Climatic Conditions, Length of the course, Fees.
Accommodation
There is plenty of student accommodations available here. You can search online or get in touch with private landlords. All accommodations have basic facilities. However, you need to check whether bills are included in your rent or not. Generally, private properties are cheaper than student accommodation. But you might have to share it with other students/professionals. Ensuites, non-ensuites, halls, apartments, and studios are some different types of accommodation you can get according to your budget. Normally, you should expect to pay £70-90 per week for your accommodation in Sheffield.
It had the programme that fitted my bill. It's a great city for international students. With two world-class and state-of-the-art research universities, thousands of graduates remain in the city. The digital and new media industries in the city are growing at a faster rate than anywhere else in the UK. Therefore there will be tons of new opportunities for fresh graduates. Also, the city is rich in aspects of culture, arts, ethnicity and nature.
Campus Life
There were 100 of clubs from various country, religions for various activities and celebrations of festivals, and all the facilities were great like library, WIFI, and sport activities.
Accommodation
There are various types of accommodation depends on your budget in association with the University, and private. The cost start from GBP 90/week to GBP 225/week
