- Doctor of Philosophy in Veterinary Medicine and Science at the University of Nottingham is a 4-year program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.

- In this program, students will learn the theory and practical techniques need for a successful research career in veterinary medicine and science.
- Students will design, plan, and deliver an original and independent research project, with supervision and support from the research experts.

- After completing the first-year students will be given the status of PhD student.
- Students will need to complete:
- a written thesis of up to 100,000 words

- The confirmatory review must be passed to progress to the remainder of the PhD program.
- If students do not pass the confirmatory review, they may be awarded an MRes degree instead.
- As a postgraduate researcher, students will have access to the member's area, which includes online resources, training courses, and award-winning postgraduate placements.
- About 100% of undergraduates from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science secured graduate-level employment or further study within 15 months of graduation.
