The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Childhood and Youth from The Open University offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding childhood and youth, integrating theory, policy, and practice. Designed for graduates from fields such as childhood and youth studies, sociology, health and social care, anthropology, psychology, or education, this 3-year, 180-credit programme is ideal for those working with—or aspiring to work with—children and young people, as well as those seeking to advance academically and professionally. Delivered by the School of Education, Childhood, Youth and Sport, the course requires a UK bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or relevant industrial experience; students without a bachelor’s must complete a foundational module. Indian applicants must meet specific academic criteria including a first-class bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum overall grade of 60% or CGPA 7/10 from a recognized institution. English proficiency is required. The application process is free and includes submission of academic transcripts, personal statement, CV, letters of recommendation, and proof of language proficiency, along with a passport copy and visa if applicable. The Open University accepts almost all English proficiency exams, such as IELTS,TOEFL for international students admission. Indian students with excellent scores are eligible for the Commonwealth Scholarships, which offer full tuition fees, a Stipend/living allowance, and Additional benefits.
