- Master of Engineering in Design Engineering at Imperial College London is a 4-year program.
- It is an on-campus, 90 credits program offered on a full-time basis.
- This course aims to develop a range of fundamental design and engineering skills, with a particular emphasis on creativity, computer-aided engineering, optimization, human factors, and design process.
- During the first two years, students will study a series of compulsory modules focusing on foundational engineering, computing, mathematics, and human factors, giving a solid scientific and design basis to build on.
- The third and fourth years include a greater emphasis on advanced modules in design, engineering, enterprise, and entrepreneurship
- The faculty will be taught in lectures, tutorials, workshops, and project-based learning, providing a balance between theory and practice.
- Students get an opportunity of 6-month paid placement in the industry from April in the third year that will enable them to gain valuable practical experience.
- In the fourth year, students will undertake Master’s level modules, and complete an extensive individual project.
- Students get the opportunity to work at companies including Dyson, Brompton Bicycles, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls Royce, ABB Robotics, Microsoft Lift, Monokoto, Random International, Better Future Factory, and Cambridge Consultants.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have three A-level (A*AA) overall, which include A*/A in Mathematics.
- Students must have 39 points overall 6 in Mathematics at a higher level.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL and PTE to get admission in this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they complete one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students should have completed a 3-4 year bachelor's degree from a mainstream university (state/federal or deemed institution) passed with the required grades.
- Students for research should hold a 3 to 4-year bachelor's degree and master's degree, both passed with required grades.
- Applicants from elite institutions will be required to obtain a minimum overall average of 7 / 10 or 60%. These are the College minimum scores and particular departments may seek grades at a higher level.
- Applicants from other approved institutions will be required to obtain a minimum overall average ranging from 7.5-8 / 10 or 65-70%.
