- I chose Bangor University because it has the largest psychology department in all of UK independent of the British Psychological Society. It is also the oldest university to give out joint honours degree with psychology which made me trust their course more than other universities. The university also was very helpful throughout my entire application process. I also was very drawn to the location of the university which was in a quiet city in North Wales, away from the metropolitan pace of other more popular cities in the UK. null
- I loved the peace and quiet of the location of the University - I had forgotten the sound of traffic in those three years. Our lecturers would recommend places we could go to for wellbeing walks and to destress during exam season. There was academic support available throughout the year for additional help for our assignments and exam preparation. I would not recommend Bangor to someone that thrives in a fast-paced life with a lot of social stimulation but if you are looking for a quiet place away from everything then Bangor is your place to go - it is surrounded by mountains on one side and the sea on the other! .
Dislikes:
- After moving from India, I initially disliked how few people lived in the city or how it was not as busy as a metropolitan city, but I eventually grew to like it. It is far from London, Manchester and Cardiff and it takes atleast two hours to get to them but there are regular trains and the university has student pick-up services during the intake season from the major airports that students can avail. null
Course Curriculum
The course content was very well planned and delivered throughout the course. My course had an optional module of work placement but I was unable to complete my placement because of the pandemic. However, the lecturer put in extra effort to make the module equally valuable without the hands on experience of a workplace, by helping us develop our employability skills, how to improve it and how to make the most of each experience by gaining transferrable skills from them.
Fees
I studied between 2018-2021 when the tuition fee per year for my course was 12750GBP without scholarship.
Course Curriculum
The curriculum is relevant and up to date with the current research and advancements made in the field of Psychology. It is laid out in a way to cover all the necessary domains a student needs to learn about in the field of Clinical and Health Psychology.

£17,800 is the program fee.
Course Curriculum
Mostly useful and interesting, however, I did sit through a few bogus courses/modules. E.G. a mandatory speech class in which no constructive criticism was given because no one wanted to offend one another. But you would receive 100% in it just for attending and giving your speech, regardless of how well you gave your speech.
Fees
9000 a year, every year for tuition. My student loan gave me around 3300 a year which didn't even cover my rent, so I had to supplement the shortfall in that and food/expenses by working whilst also studying.
