  • Postgraduate tuition: £19,500 - £21,300 (INR 25.32 - 27.66 Lakhs) per year
  • Undergraduate tuition: £17,600 - £20,800 (INR 22.86 - 27.01 Lakhs) per year
  • MSc Computer Science: £19,500 (INR 25.32 Lakhs) for one year
  • Living costs: £500 - £750 (INR 64,935 - 97,403) per month
  • 12-month living cost: £6,000 - £9,000 (INR 7.79 - 11.69 Lakhs)
  • First-year MSc Computer Science budget: INR 34.85 - 38.75 Lakhs

Coventry’s published living cost benchmark is £500 - £750 (INR 64,935 - 97,403) per month. University halls are the first housing option, while private accommodation may involve additional costs such as deposits, bills, lease terms, and transport. A specific private-rent range for January 2027 is not published, so different neighbourhoods should be considered mainly based on their commute to the university rather than assumed to be cheaper.

For the MSc Computer Science, the first-year budget is INR 34.85 - 38.75 Lakhs, including 12 months of living costs and one-year immigration charges. This estimate does not include travel expenses, accommodation deposits, optional field trips, or any increase in tuition fees in later years.

Current Admission Scenario:

Intake: September 2026 is no longer realistic for a new Indian Student Visa applicant. Its condition deadlines were 5 August, 12 August, and 19 August 2026. January 2027 is the next realistic start on the featured course pages. January is PG-only at many United Kingdom universities. Coventry’s featured pages show January starts for both UG and PG routes.

When to pay: The January 2027 deposit deadline is not publicly dated. Your offer letter controls, with £8,000 (INR 10.39 Lakhs) or full first-year tuition under Coventry’s region rule. The Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) follows cleared funds.

Scholarships: Coventry’s Group Scholarship is open for 2026/27 entry and needs no separate form. The Jamsetjee Nusserwanjee Tata Endowment states that its 2026/27 programme is closed. A 2027 target-intake deadline is pending.

Note: Exchange rate: 1 pound sterling (GBP) = INR 129.87, as of 28 August 2026.

Note: Coventry’s £19,500 (INR 25.32 Lakhs) MSc band is annual, not full-programme tuition for a longer route. A placement can extend study to two years and adds £1,900 (INR 2.47 Lakhs) if secured.

Coventry University Undergraduate Fees: January 2027

Five undergraduate routes have annual tuition fees of £17,600 (INR 22.86 Lakhs) or £20,800 (INR 27.01 Lakhs). The BSc routes listed below are based on the three-year full-time option. Business and finance programmes fall under the lower fee band, while computing and data-related programmes are charged at the higher rate.

The tuition fee is charged annually throughout the course. The final cost will depend on the fee band and the published course duration.

Programme Duration Published tuition (Local currency and INR)

  • Data and computing routes sit in the £20,800 (INR 27.01 Lakhs) band.
  • The higher band adds £3,200 (INR 4.16 Lakhs) yearly.
  • The three-year difference becomes £9,600 (INR 12.47 Lakhs) at unchanged current rates.
  • Foundation-year options add another academic year and need a separate offer calculation.

Note: The £20,800 (INR 27.01 Lakhs) computing band is not a typical business fee. Compare the £17,600 (INR 22.86 Lakhs) business routes before choosing by subject.

Cost of Living in Coventry for Indian Students

Coventry’s official living cost benchmark is £500 - £750 (INR 64,935 - 97,403) per month, which comes to £6,000 - £9,000 (INR 7.79 - 11.69 Lakhs) for 12 months. University halls are the first housing option for students, while private accommodation may involve additional costs such as a deposit, utilities, lease terms, and daily commuting.

Students choosing private renting should consider these extra costs when planning their overall budget. The final living expenses can vary depending on the type of accommodation, location, and lifestyle.

Expense Monthly (Local) Monthly (INR) Annual (INR) Notes for Indian Students
Living expenses benchmark £500-£750 (INR 64,935-97,403) INR 64,935-97,403 INR 7.79-11.69 Lakhs Combined benchmark covering accommodation, food, bills, and transport.
  • University halls are recommended for first-year students and sit near campus.
  • A hall offer must be accepted within three days, then a payment plan begins.
  • Private renting needs a deposit, bills, lease length, and commute budget.
  • The £500-£750 (INR 64,935-97,403) range is not a rent-only average.
  • A regular January 2027 hall price is not published, so no private-rent comparison appears here.

Private Housing Near Coventry for Indian Students

No official January 2027 private-rent range is published for Coventry. Use the university letting route or halls first, then compare any private offer by bills, deposit, lease, and commute.

Note: The £500-£750 (INR 64,935-97,403) benchmark covers monthly living expenses, not tuition. It does not establish a rent-only figure or guarantee a hall room.

Currency Tip: For January 2027, reserve the published £500-£750 (INR 64,935 - 97,403) monthly living range. Convert the tuition deposit and living reserve separately, then compare Convera with your bank’s wire quote. September 2027 has no published 2027/28 fee yet.

Total Cost of Studying at Coventry University

A one-year PG at £19,500 (INR 25.32 Lakhs) needs INR 34.85-38.75 Lakhs for year one.

This PG first-year budget uses 12 months living and a one-year Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) comparison.

Scenario Tuition Living Mandatory Fees Total Year 1
Low living £19,500 (INR 25.32 Lakhs) £6,000 (INR 7.79 Lakhs), 12 months £558 (INR 72,467) Student Visa plus £776 (INR 1.01 Lakhs) IHS, total £1,334 (INR 1.73 Lakhs) INR 34.85 Lakhs
Average living £19,500 (INR 25.32 Lakhs) £7,500 (INR 9.74 Lakhs), 12 months £558 (INR 72,467) Student Visa plus £776 (INR 1.01 Lakhs) IHS, total £1,334 (INR 1.73 Lakhs) INR 36.80 Lakhs
High living £19,500 (INR 25.32 Lakhs) £9,000 (INR 11.69 Lakhs), 12 months £558 (INR 72,467) Student Visa plus £776 (INR 1.01 Lakhs) IHS, total £1,334 (INR 1.73 Lakhs) INR 38.75 Lakhs
  • Tuition covers the first year only, while living uses 12 months.
  • The table excludes accommodation deposit, airfare, books, field trips, resits, and later-year fee increases.
  • The deposit reduces tuition when Coventry requests it; it is not a second tuition charge.
  • The table shows one-year IHS, but the Student Visa application charges full visa-period IHS upfront.
  • A three-year UG needs a separate 10-month living model and longer visa cash plan.

Full programme tuition plus 12-month living is INR 33.12-37.01 Lakhs. That equals INR 0.33-0.37 Crore before immigration charges. A INR 25 Lakhs education loan carries an equated monthly instalment (EMI) of about INR 33,500. The rate is 10.5% over 10 years.

Key Insight: The Group Scholarship saves £2,000 (INR 2.60 Lakhs). It cuts first-year MSc Computer Science tuition to £17,500 (INR 22.73 Lakhs). Secure the offer-letter deposit deadline before the next instalment.

Coventry University Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

Coventry publishes two India-related deposit outcomes: £8,000 (INR 10.39 Lakhs) or the full first-year tuition fee. Applicants from Punjab, Uttarakhand, or Haryana have a published requirement to pay the full first-year tuition fee. For applicants from other Indian states, the published line lists an £8,000 (INR 10.39 Lakhs) deposit, although individual states are not separately named.

Students should follow the exact deposit amount stated in their offer letter, as the payment is required for the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to be issued. Coventry’s international application rules also require applicants to have cleared funds before the CAS can be released.

Programme example Published tuition India-region deposit rule
Computer Science MSc £19,500 (INR 25.32 Lakhs) Full first-year tuition for the named India regions
Master of Business Administration (MBA) £21,300 (INR 27.66 Lakhs) Full first-year tuition for the named India regions
International Business Management BSc (Hons) £17,600 (INR 22.86 Lakhs) Full first-year tuition for the named India regions

Coventry’s published refund terms do not state a separate course-specific refund rule.

Methods of Payment

  • Bank transfer or telegraphic transfer, using the student identification number.
  • Convera, Coventry’s named international payment provider.
  • Forex card, after comparing the final exchange rate and charges.
  • Education-loan disbursement, coordinated before each tuition due date.
  • A 2-3% saving is possible when Convera or a forex card beats a raw wire rate.

Steps to Pay the Tuition Fee for International Students

  1. Accept the Coventry University offer.
  2. Pay the deposit stated in the offer letter.
  3. Receive the CAS after conditions and cleared funds are complete.
  4. Pay the balance under the published instalment schedule.
  5. Keep every payment receipt for the Student Visa file.

Note: The January 2027 offer-letter date is the deposit deadline. Allow up to seven days for international funds to clear, so CAS timing is protected.

  • The Student Visa fee is £558 (INR 72,467) for an application outside the UK.
  • The student IHS rate is £776 (INR 1.01 Lakhs) yearly.
  • For a visa lasting up to 18 months, the upfront IHS becomes £1,164 (INR 1.51 Lakhs).

Cash Needed Before Arrival

Computer Science MSc students in the named India regions may need INR 27.56 Lakhs before arrival.

Cash item Amount
Course deposit, full first-year rule £19,500 (INR 25.32 Lakhs)
UK Student Visa £558 (INR 72,467)
Full IHS for up to 18 months £1,164 (INR 1.51 Lakhs)
First January 2027 accommodation payment Coventry does not publish this amount
Minimum before arrival £21,222 (INR 27.56 Lakhs), excluding accommodation payment

Where the offer applies £8,000 (INR 10.39 Lakhs), the same minimum is INR 12.63 Lakhs. Budget INR 1.73-2.24 Lakhs for first-year hidden costs, covering the Student Visa and one-year to 18-month IHS. This excludes tuition deposits, accommodation deposits, travel, setup costs, and optional tests.

Note: Families often miss the IHS. A one-year master’s can require £1,164 (INR 1.51 Lakhs) upfront when the visa lasts up to 18 months.

Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students

The highest immediate saving for January 2027 is £2,000 (INR 2.60 Lakhs) from Coventry’s Group Scholarship.

  • University halls can reduce setup uncertainty, but each offer has a three-day acceptance window.
  • Student Visa work rights can supplement living spending, not fund the upfront deposit or visa proof.
  • Section 80E may allow an Indian education-loan interest deduction, subject to applicable tax rules.
  • The £17,600 (INR 22.86 Lakhs) band saves £3,200 (INR 4.16 Lakhs) yearly.
  • The three-year UG difference becomes £9,600 (INR 12.47 Lakhs) at unchanged current rates.
  • January 2027 graduates should expect an 18-month Graduate Route when applying on or after 1 January 2027.

Tip for Indian Students: Choose the Group Scholarship before the January 2027 deposit clears. It removes INR 2.60 Lakhs from first-year tuition and leaves the next instalment lower.

January 2027 is Coventry’s next realistic intake, as the September 2026 visa-related deadlines closed on 5, 12, and 19 August 2026. For the MSc Computer Science, the estimated first-year budget is INR 34.85–38.75 Lakhs before scholarship, based on the 2026/27 tuition fee of £19,500 (INR 25.32 Lakhs). The £2,000 (INR 2.60 Lakhs) Group Scholarship reduces the tuition fee to £17,500 (INR 22.73 Lakhs).

An INR 25 Lakh education loan would result in an estimated EMI of INR 33,500 per month at 10.5% interest over 10 years. Students should focus on meeting the January 2027 offer-letter deadline. The September 2027 cost should be recalculated once Coventry publishes the 2027/28 tuition fees.

  • I found my private accommodation through a whatsapp group. Uni accommodations are expensive but well maintained and almost all of them are en suite, which means all of them are attached with toilets.
  • Monthly rent at a private accommodation will be around 200-400. and the facilities will be basic. In uni accommodations you pay around 450-800. The amenities you have over there are top-notch with your own toilets. My accommodation was about a 20 minutes walk from the uni. Most indian students do prefer private accommodations.
