The programme explores the opportunities and tensions created by these innovations and will also explore the less public shifts in the relationships between the three branches of government. ÊIssues concerning accountability, democratic engagement and what constitutes Ôgood governanceÕ are explored to give an understanding of the broader relationships between the ÔregionsÕ and tiers of government/governance at the state and EU levels.Ê
