Admissions take place on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend you apply as early as possible.
- Master of Science in Physics at Cardiff University is a 1-year program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
- The MSc program is both a research-led and research-informed program taught modules delivered by world-class researchers.
- There are two stages to this programme. The first stage consists of core and optional taught modules which total 120 credits. These program are split across the autumn and spring semester of year one.
- Students will undertake all core and optional taught modules in the autumn and spring terms.
- Students will also complete a 4-month summer research project which will be assessed through a dissertation.
- The teaching contact time is typically a mixture of lectures, seminars, tutorials, group sessions and practicals.
- Students get the oppertunity to access to the Trevithick Library, which holds the collection of physics and astrophysics resources, as well as resources from Engineering and Computer Science disciplines.
- This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
- The School of Physics and Astronomy ranked 6th in the UK in the latest Research Assessment Exercise with 99% of the research is deemed world-leading or internationally excellent.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants will hold one of the requirement:
- BEng Electronic Engineering (2:2 minimum)
- Or, BEng Electrical Engineering (2:2 minimum)
- Or, BSc Physics (2:2 minimum).
- Students must be qualified in IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE to get admission in this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Students will need successful completion of a relevant bachelor's degree from a recognized institution, with grades of approximately 55%-60% to qualify for the postgraduate courses.
- Some schools will also require the successful completion of a relevant master's program from a recognized institution.
- The Indian Standard XII English qualification from the following examination boards are accepted with a minimum score of 70%:
