Admissions take place on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend you apply as early as possible.
- Master of Science in Computing at Cardiff University is a 1-year program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
- This course is accredited by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.
- Through this one-year program, students will get a first-hand understanding of the vital problem-solving role of software.
- The core modules courses consist of 100 credits, with one optional module worth a total of 20 credits.
- Students will also undertake an individual project and dissertation (worth 60 credits).
- Students get the flexible choice of the project topic, for example: associated with the research activity of the School fulfilling a business need reflecting student's own interest.
- University provides a laptop during induction week that will remain with students throughout the duration of the course.
- This course is a full-time program undertaken over one calendar year. It is also available as a part-time program over 3 years, and with placement.
- Students obtain support materials either via Learning Central (Cardiff University’s Virtual Learning Environment) or from study packs specially developed for selected modules.
- The taught modules within the programs are assessed through examinations and a wide range of in-course assessments, such as written reports, extended essays, practical assignments, and oral presentations.
- The University provides a Master's Excellence Scholarship award worth £3000 is open to students intending to study one of the taught master’s degrees.
- The School of Computer Science and Informatics provides teaching of the highest standard and received an excellent report in the most recent Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) review.
